I'm locked in for long-term use and honestly I'm okay with it. The $160 monthly cost is worth sacrificing other stuff. Once insurance picks it up, bonus. But even now the life improvement is worth the risk of unknowns. No point spiraling about taking it forever if you've got access and can swing it.
Dexa scans are great. I was doing them once a year and they give you real insight - body comp obviously, but muscle mass is huge since GLP meds eat away at it so easily. Now that I've stopped dropping weight and am focused on building muscle back, I do them every 6 months. Wish I'd done one...
Late to reply but my take: you had solid Zepbound results. Stick with it. It's a brand name for tirzepatide, very effective, sometimes cheaper depending on vendor and dosage.
started at 245, now at 150 and i'm 5'7. first shot march 3rd and it literally changed everything for me. now the mental shift is harder than the weight loss was honestly. i know there's more work ahead but i'm locked in. feeling good in my own skin for real and that's what matters most.
IGF-1 tracking can give you decent feedback on whether your dose is actually working right. I've been meaning to get baseline labs done before jumping in but haven't gotten around to it yet. Testing at the midpoint might help you adjust faster rather than waiting till the end to see how it went.
