GLP-1 users eating MORE chocolate?

I have a shelf of fancy dark chocolates that I have not touched since I started on Reta.
Thinking about giving them to someone to make more room for important stuff.

I am a chocolate addict who does not want chocolate since starting tirz. I am surprised by this article. I have not craved chocolate in months. However, I will take a small handful of M&M's if they are around...because they're there.

I ate mine before starting Reta because I did not want to risk it. I had some small boutique maker chocolates. That, and good tequila. Both are gone.

On 0.25 for three weeks. System adjusting but I'm worried. Can't eat much. No nausea, just physically unable to get past a few bites. It's become work. Zero hunger but my body needs fuel. Have a physically demanding job - worried I'm underfueling without feeling it.

The cinnamon rolls won. But I've noticed that every "protein" product I purchase is chocolate. Shakes, bars, etc. All covered with dark chocolate. I don't get the chocolate craving, so it's annoying. The other flavors are gross.

First Reta, now Tirz to see what's best. Both lowered Hershey's and Reese's sales because I can resist eating a whole bag. I can eat 2 mini Reese's and stop. A voice says "eat more," but I can ignore it.

Agree... But dark chocolate is bad. I don't know where they get these stats. 17% more chocolate intake for GLP users? I disagree - I am eating less chocolate than before.

This is a bit true for me. I am not seeking out "better" chocolate, but one small piece of chocolate (Dove Promises) is now enough for dessert. Before it was a tub of ice cream or a row of Oreos. So, I buy more small chocolates than before. No Reese's though because no medicine can make that safe.

It's an acquired taste for many. If your chocolate is a sweet dessert with bad fat and a lot of sugar, then real chocolate will be unpleasant.

That's what got us here in the first place. We became addicted to foods that overpower hunger and satiety. We never enjoyed traditional foods.

Just kidding. I don't care for chain pizza. We have some mom and pop pizza shops that are great. Yes I live in Florida. Our pizza is not like up north.

Does chocolate have magnesium? (Googling!) I think I am just low on sugar :) I take extra magnesium for migraines. Semaglutide has been working for over a year. I am on a weight plateau. I hope Tirz fixes that!

Yup! GLP-1s reduce consumption and change what you want. You can't market that, unless selling eggs, protein, or fiber.

I remember my first day of tirzepatide. I always grazed. Always at the fridge. After my morning shot, I went to the fridge once and wanted healthy protein. Amazing.

Cacao has high levels of magnesium and polyphenols. Cocoa and chocolate do, but the amount goes down, plus there's sugar, etc.
But high-quality cacao/cocoa can provide magnesium.

I'm sorry you have migraines! I hope you get a good balance act with the Tirz!

Chocolate is easier to eat than normal food! I wasn't eating so I buy chocolate to get calories. I'm at goal weight and keeping it there. I'm trying to change it but there's others like me!

I love seeing people using multiple tools for their health journeys. It's inspiring! I've been doing a few things besides the medication itself, too. I rely on a food scale to make sure I'm measuring things accurately when I prep my meals, and I've been taking progress pictures to keep myself motivated. It can be a real boost when the scale isn't moving!

I agree with Dakota_1992, those systems can really cement the lifestyle changes. I'm not as regimented, but I do prioritize protein at every meal, and I track my protein, fiber, water, and the GLP-1 shot in my app to look for trends.

I'm only on my first week of using the medicine (.25mg) so things haven't changed drastically yet, but I'm hopeful after seeing everyone else's transformations! I'm using an app to save recipes and track my calories, and focusing on mindful eating.

It's such a change! I've dropped about 45 lbs since starting my journey. The biggest thing I've noticed is how differently I eat now. I savor my food and eat slowly. The hunger is still there, but I can ignore it completely! My body still urges me to eat, but now I have the strength to say no!
