GLP-1 Slow Start - Anyone Else?

didn't lose much on lower doses—even gained some months despite feeling terrible. six months ago i jumped to 12.5, not expecting anything. was 287 at the appointment, 245 today. that's way more than i realized. food noise starting again so my doc said flag it if it gets worse. crazy to think i was pushing 300.

I had the opposite issue. My digestive system was a disaster - 4-5 times each day. Was terrified this medication would make it worse. Instead it basically cleared it up. Now I'm at 3-4 times weekly instead.

Slow start at .25mg is normal and not a sign the medication is not working. The plateau at the starter dose is real but expected. The misinformation about what counts as normal makes it harder to read your own experience. Community-based data beats social media clips.

Six weeks at 0.25mg with minimal movement is common - appetite effect builds gradually over the first few weeks at starter doses. Most people hit clearer suppression at 0.5mg. A month and a half in is still early.

The standard titration schedule reflects drug company trial protocols more than individual optimization - the fastest path to the highest tolerated dose maximizes revenue. Slowing the schedule based on actual symptom response rather than the calendar is reasonable when tolerance is the question.
