Hi everyone,
I haven't had much luck with weight loss on Ozempic so far. I've been on 1mg for a year and a half, and I've only lost about 15 pounds. On the plus side, my A1C is great. It's at 5.1, which is a big improvement. (It was around 5.8 with just Metformin.)
My doctor is willing to up my dose to 2mg, but she wants me to decide how to do it, either by stepping up gradually or splitting the dose. She recommended using insulin syringes instead of counting clicks for either method.
I'm curious to know what others have done when increasing their dose from 1mg to 2mg. Specifically:
* Did you go straight from 1mg to 2mg?
* Did you split the dose, like 1mg twice a week?
* Did you gradually increase the dose?
* Did you combine gradual increase and split dosing?
* Is it easier to use insulin syringes instead of counting clicks?
I'm probably overthinking this, but I want to minimize any potential side effects!
Edit: I'm also a little worried that increasing my dose could cause low blood sugar, since my A1C is already good. (I'm also taking 1000mg of Metformin ER daily.) I probably should check my blood sugar more often.
