GLP-1s: My body recomposition journey

Ok, so about 8 months ago I hopped on a name brand that rhymes with Blounjaro - started at 180lbs and I'm 5'2". I've been off it for about 2 months now and I've managed to keep the weight off by sticking to a calorie deficit, tracking macros, plus the gym 4x a week. I alternate between upper and lower body days. I lift heavy, do low-impact cardio for fat burning, and a ton of mat work with kettlebells for my core. I originally wanted to get to 135, which I did on the medication alone, but tbh I lost some curves and muscle. So I've been grinding the last couple of months and I'm up to 145, but it's all muscle now. My fat rolls are gone, my waist is smaller, I can see my ab lines, and my glutes and chest look better. Clothes that fit me at 135 with no muscle are now too big at 145. I feel and look amazing. My confidence is way up and I'm actually excited to participate in activities and see myself in photos. Even my relationship is better and I'm going for a promotion at work. It's been a total game changer. I also take a stimulant to help with appetite, but it's mainly for ADHD since childhood. I'm not gonna lie, it definitely helps with my diet, but the gym has taught me discipline. I'm so excited to go on vacation to Germany and Malta and wear a bikini!

Wow, that's the kind of body I'm striving for! Thanks for the motivation. I'm nearly at my target and recomp goal. Can't wait!

Congrats to you too!!! Enjoy your trip AND rock that bikini!!

I'm just starting out, about 3 months on a popular GLP-1, and I've learned so much about food. I can barely tolerate sugary snacks which is crazy cuz I used to love them. Weight loss drugs aren't an easy way out, but they are helping me understand my body!

You're probably adding muscle too. Muscle weighs more than fat. When I started heavier lifting I gained scale weight while losing inches. That recomposition is actually a good thing.
