Reta first impressions... normal?

Okay, so I started Reta a little over a week ago - 1mg. Another 1mg shot yesterday. I'm not severely overweight (6 foot, 210lbs), and I try to eat well, but I always overeat. It's just how I was raised; clean your plate. Last night, I was just... not that hungry. My wife cooks great dinners every night. Usually I eat a decent amount, but I couldn't. Ate maybe half of it, and it wasn't as enjoyable as it normally is. Is this what Reta does? I'm new to peptides. It felt weird not to finish my meal.

I've also felt kinda slow the past several days. Could that be the Reta too? Still learning how to deal with everything. Need my energy levels up for work.

It dials down the constant food thoughts, makes it harder to overeat, and makes you more aware of your body's actual needs.

I'm 3 months in and I've dropped 65 lbs, plus a lot of water retention. My joint pain has decreased a lot. I feel like I'm getting my life back because of this medication.

Remember to use Reta as a tool. I use it to help me with intermittent fasting (minimum 14 hours daily) and to manage portion sizes so I stay on track with my nutrition goals. I don't just eat whatever.

Drink a ton of water. When you think you've had enough, drink more. It really helps.

Protein is important. Aim for a daily protein goal. I shoot for .8 x my target weight (275 lbs), so I'm at around 200g of protein. This helps me cut out the junk food because I know I'll get full quickly, so I prioritize protein.

Vitamins: Use a good multivitamin or search "glp1 vitamin regime" on the web for daily vitamin intake recommendations. It can affect how you feel during the day.

Calories: Have a minimum daily calorie goal. Use a calorie deficit calculator. Plan how you'll reach that goal. My breakfast, lunch, and snacks are the same every day, so I know my intake before I even think about dinner. This gives me a base protein intake and calorie intake daily, so I only have to plan one meal.

Carbs: Don't skip carbs! Your body needs them for energy, and Reta helps your body burn fat more efficiently. You need fuel to start the engine.

Dosing: Stay at each dose level as long as you can. The trials had people titrating up every month, but this isn't a clinical setting. Move up when you feel like you're not getting the full benefits. Listen to your body.

If you have questions, ask me. I'm not an expert, but I read about this medication every day and want to share my experiences.

Thanks! It bothers me to see social media ads claiming, "take this and lose weight, nothing else needed" or calling it a "miracle weight loss drug."

I just helped a friend switch from the highest dose of sema to Reta. She'd been stuck for almost a year, and the sema was making her sick. She was getting her meds from an online source without insurance, and they didn't care about her well-being. She's losing weight again on Reta and is surprised it's working so well because she can live her life without feeling so sick. Her husband thanks me every time I see him because she's like a different person. I've got her following a similar plan to mine, and she can't believe how a little help has made such a big difference.

Reta has been amazing for me.

During the first week, my appetite was very suppressed, and I lost so much weight that I worried about long-term health. That phase didn't last long. Now that I'm used to my dose, my appetite is suppressed by about 30%, and I get full much faster. I often eat only one meal a day (OMAD), which helps me easily hit that intermittent fasting goal of an 8-hour eating window and nothing after 6 PM. I'm losing about 1.5 lb/week with no real effort or side effects.

I'm on the "let it happen" plan, and it's working great. Your results may vary.

I should focus more on nutrition and exercise, but that was true before, too. I honestly can't remember the last time I ate a vegetable, and I'm not joking.

I'm curious about starting Reta over other GLP-1s. Has anyone had fewer side effects with Reta compared to, say, semaglutide or tirzepatide? I've heard good things about its effects on fat loss and how it works with TRT.

I've heard some people report fewer GI issues with Reta, possibly due to the glucagon component. However, individual reactions can vary quite a bit.

I agree with @SweatProgress that individual reactions vary so much. Some patients have minimal sides, others struggle. It's wise to start low and titrate slowly, as @Protein-Queen mentioned.

Started a med and my body's basically staging a revolt. Nausea coming out of nowhere, getting full after two bites, zero energy, and my stomach's doing things I can't predict. Knew there'd be side effects but this feels like a full reset without permission. Trying to stay hydrated and adjust but it's rough. Please tell me I'm not the only one going through this.

try different mask styles - full face vs nasal vs pillows. wash the contact part w/ soap and water. i'm lazy but notice the itch stops for a bit after washing. tightness is voodoo - gotta play w/ strap tension while laying down.

The cold on Reta is one of the consistent early reports. It usually becomes less pronounced over the first few weeks but tends to stay partially.

1mg as a Reta starting point at 210 lbs is the right entry regardless of starting weight - the tolerance window matters more than rushing the dose. Suppression at 1mg is usually mild; the profile expands at 2mg. One week is early for a full read.

Reta at 1mg first-week responses - reduced appetite and not finishing meals - are exactly the expected pattern. The effect strengthens noticeably through weeks two and three.

8-10 minutes rolling is on the long end but not unusual - Reta can be more stubborn to dissolve than sema especially if dried slightly. Keep it at room temp before reconstitution and roll gently rather than shake; most batches come together with patience.
