It dials down the constant food thoughts, makes it harder to overeat, and makes you more aware of your body's actual needs.
I'm 3 months in and I've dropped 65 lbs, plus a lot of water retention. My joint pain has decreased a lot. I feel like I'm getting my life back because of this medication.
Remember to use Reta as a tool. I use it to help me with intermittent fasting (minimum 14 hours daily) and to manage portion sizes so I stay on track with my nutrition goals. I don't just eat whatever.
Drink a ton of water. When you think you've had enough, drink more. It really helps.
Protein is important. Aim for a daily protein goal. I shoot for .8 x my target weight (275 lbs), so I'm at around 200g of protein. This helps me cut out the junk food because I know I'll get full quickly, so I prioritize protein.
Vitamins: Use a good multivitamin or search "glp1 vitamin regime" on the web for daily vitamin intake recommendations. It can affect how you feel during the day.
Calories: Have a minimum daily calorie goal. Use a calorie deficit calculator. Plan how you'll reach that goal. My breakfast, lunch, and snacks are the same every day, so I know my intake before I even think about dinner. This gives me a base protein intake and calorie intake daily, so I only have to plan one meal.
Carbs: Don't skip carbs! Your body needs them for energy, and Reta helps your body burn fat more efficiently. You need fuel to start the engine.
Dosing: Stay at each dose level as long as you can. The trials had people titrating up every month, but this isn't a clinical setting. Move up when you feel like you're not getting the full benefits. Listen to your body.
If you have questions, ask me. I'm not an expert, but I read about this medication every day and want to share my experiences.
