Scale stuck? Check other progress markers!

Hey everyone! I wanted to share something that really helped me when I was feeling discouraged, hoping it helps someone else too.

I was stuck for like, a month and a half. No matter what I did, the scale wouldn't budge. And I didn't *feel* different either. Super annoying.

What actually made a difference wasn't changing my dose or going on some crazy diet. It was tracking things besides just the scale.

I started noting how hungry I was, how I felt (mood-wise), my energy through the day, even snapping pics of my meals sometimes, plus just my regular habits.

After a while, I started seeing changes I totally missed before:
• My face looked thinner even though my weight was the same
• My hunger changed a lot
• I had way more energy
• I was eating smaller portions without even trying

I didn't notice any of this from one day to the next, but seeing it all together made it clear I was making progress.

I'm using a simple app to log everything (nothing fancy), but really, the point is: having a simple, visual way to track your journey really helps when you feel like nothing's happening.

If anyone else is stuck, try paying attention to the smaller signs. You might be doing better than you think!

It's great you're noticing non-scale victories, @Jules2006. Focusing on these can be as important as the numbers. Celebrating those small wins can be extremely motivating.

I'm going into week 7 and haven't seen much happen. It's making me wonder if this is right for me.

Some people don't see consistent changes until the second month. Don't give up hope yet! Sometimes it just takes a little longer for the medication to reach a therapeutic level in your system.

Are you on a low dose? I have a friend who didn't see results until they got to 1mg. Hang in there!

Any fellow Canadians manage to test markers like IGF-1 in Canada, particularly BC? Walk-in doctors wouldn't order it for me. Looking for other options.

The reflux or gerd or whatever. At night after taking meds, felt stuck in throat. Hard to swallow sometimes. Now on famotidine morning and night, back to normal. The swallowing issue freaked me out though.

The scale being an unreliable narrator is one of the things nobody mentions when starting. Monthly photos, how clothes fit, energy levels, how stairs feel, blood pressure numbers - these are the markers that tell the story the scale is too inconsistent to track. The frenemy framing is exactly right. Useful data point, terrible judge of effort.

The scale stall is often the body recalibrating after a fast early phase - measurements, how clothes fit, energy levels, and sleep quality are all tracking changes the scale doesn't capture. Progress markers other than weight tend to show more consistent movement during a stall.
