Finally Starting Tirzepatide!

So, after a couple of hold-ups, I'm planning to kick off my first week of tirzepatide tomorrow. Had it all lined up a few weeks back, then BAM, stomach bug followed by the 'vid. Talk about a setback! I'm a guy, carrying around an extra 75-125 pounds. Seriously hoping this med can be the key to unlocking weight loss and better health.

I'm really eager to get started and, for once, ditch this whole yo-yo dieting thing where I gain and lose the same 30-50 pounds over and over. It's been a struggle for what feels like forever. I'm grateful for all the support I've found here and hope to pay it forward someday.

I'll be sure to keep you all in the loop as I progress!

Tirz is awesome. I'm a 60-year-old male, 6'0". Started at 201 lbs and dropped to 171 lbs in 3 months on just 2.5mg of tirzepatide. Eventually, the weight loss slowed, but that's just because I didn't have much excess fat left to lose. It was amazing. Week 2 hit me with major constipation, followed by a day of major 💩 problems. After that initial rough patch, the weight just melted off. Keep something on hand that gets things moving if you feel backed up.

I've switched over to retatrutide to see if the glucagon helps me get below 15% body fat. It seems to give me more energy, but the appetite suppression isn't as strong. I know the glucagon is working hard though.

I know someone who's had great success with tirzepatide, so it was kind of the first one I looked at. I've also heard some people say that reta didn't suppress their appetite as much as Tirz did. Maybe I'll give Reta a try down the road.

I went with tirzepatide for similar reasons. A close friend with a medical background (RN) suggested it provided better control over food cravings. She had fantastic results, so I took her advice. So far, the results have been excellent for me. Best of luck as you start the process.

Hey Sage_1977, good luck on your journey! I'm starting Ozempic this Sunday for my type 2 diabetes. I'm a 5'8" guy, weighing around 250 pounds here in Canada. My benefits approved it, starting with 0.25-0.5mg pens, then up to 1mg pens. What can I expect eating-wise in the first few weeks? Will my meals be like, half the size? I know I shouldn't overeat. Any tips?

Hey everyone! I just started on semaglutide a little over a month ago. I'm nervous about posting this, but seeing how supportive everyone is has been so encouraging! I've already seen amazing changes.

For me, my portions ended up being about half of what I normally ate. Really listen to your body and stop when you feel full. It's more of a mental adjustment than I thought. If your brain says "I'm pretty full, but there's only a couple bites left..." just stop eating!

I started about 5 weeks ago. I was increasing my dose every couple of weeks. Last night I was dealing with the most painful combo of constipation AND diarrhea... I threw up. Force yourself to drink a ton of water so you don’t get constipated. Everyone has different side effects but that one SUCKS. For the most part I’ve been fine. A little nausea the first 24 hours after the shot, and twice in 5 weeks I’ve had major cramping and pain.

That's awesome to hear Shrinking_Suzi! It's encouraging to know others are experiencing positive changes too.

64 pounds in seven months with consistent training is the combination that produces results like this - the medication handles the intake side and workouts protect muscle during the loss phase.
