GLP-1 myths IRL?

losing a huge amount quickly and having no illusions about how is the most honest framing of how these medications work. the OP's experience of people skipping the 'how did you do it' question and going straight to assumptions is the social version of the same myth. not hungry is the answer and the 10k steps and dietary discipline are downstream effects of that, not the cause.

the blood sugar and cholesterol angle is actually the more accurate medical framing anyway - GLP-1 was approved for metabolic conditions before weight loss became the headline use. leading with that is just emphasizing a different true thing, not making something up

The rarity of actual OD situations with GLP-1s and most problems coming from people pushing huge doses intentionally is a useful frame for the OP's myths thread. The threshold between a lot and too much on appetite and nausea is usually self-limiting - most people back off before doing real harm because the side effects get intense first. What myths have come up most in the OP's experience?

The disclosure calibration by person and context is the most sustainable approach - spending energy educating skeptics extracts a cost from the person disclosing without producing much return. The medical privacy norm is a completely defensible alternative to full disclosure, and the people who genuinely ask and are ready to hear the real answer are easy to identify in context.
