Healthy food gross now, junk food ok?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Same here honestly. Used to avoid anything processed entirely since even a small amount left me feeling awful. Now I can handle some of it here and there without issue.

Scheduled a doctor visit this week, and generally eat quite healthily, avoiding junk food and heavily processed options. Also cook most meals from scratch, so rarely touch anything pre-made from the store, which honestly tastes pretty unpleasant in my opinion.

Totally get it. Maybe just cut white pasta out entirely. Lentil based or another alternative might sit better. It genuinely made me miserable the whole day after eating it. Still lost weight though somehow, which is wild.

Lost all interest in potato chips since starting this. Used to go through bags of them like nothing. Thankfully my taste for a drink is still fully intact.

Started off with a solid healthy breakfast then went and had crispy chicken and fried potatoes, lettuce wrap and all. Heads up, greasy food is not your friend on this.

That thread about diet while on the third compound or dual-action medication got me thinking, figured I'd start this one. Remember back on a low-carb diet, food chatter was intense compared to now, running the third compound. Was strict about it, but every so often needed a cheat meal just to stay sane. Back then I'd hit some low-quality takeout spots and treat myself to greasy wrapped sandwiches. Since low-carb ruled out fries, I'd just get double meat with vegetables and way too much sauce, the cheaper, greasier, more processed it was, somehow the more satisfying it felt, ha. These days I've completely lost any pull toward that kind of food. Eating feels plain, flavorless even, but healthy, and honestly I don't mind at all. It's just routine now, not something I look forward to. My one real exception, my actual treat, is a small bag of popcorn a couple times weekly whenever a snacky feeling creeps in. That small portion is exactly enough to kill any craving entirely. Anyone else have a guilty pleasure like that, or does this medication class just erase the need for one completely?

Been eating a ton of chicken and vegetables lately. Trying to keep protein high, carbs controlled, plenty of fresh produce and fruit, no bread at all. Drinking lots of water, sometimes with a sugar-free flavor packet mixed in. Also try to have one with electrolytes every day. Aiming to get down to 185, currently at 200, and I'm 6 feet tall.

Haven't had a real cheat day since March. An entire day of pure junk food... just don't want one anymore. Every bit of longing for my old favorite junk food has basically vanished. Such a strange sensation. I still love certain foods. It's all so bizarre.

Oh, and I spent 20 years working in restaurants too. I'm the stronger cook in my household. My teenagers love when I cook. My wife too. Still get in there and whip up whatever they're craving on a regular basis. Just not personally drawn to it the way I used to be.

Had a taste of a citrus pie a few days back. Far too sweet for me now, couldn't get through the whole slice. Roughly a month prior tried a cauliflower-crust pizza, honestly tasty, though one piece was plenty.

Can honestly eat a salad topped with grilled chicken first thing in the morning.

Feels like that old sci-fi episode where the kid forces everyone to eat what he wants. That's basically Tirz for me. LOL.
