Sweets cravings on sema?

Would a chocolate protein shake help take the edge off that craving? If located in the US, there's a particular brownie-flavored protein shake brand worth trying, pretty rich tasting and doesn't upset the stomach.

Definitely sugar for me. Struggle to find diet or zero-sugar options I actually enjoy since my palate's pretty particular. Open to any recommendations though.

They started me on metformin, and the only real effect was these odd nighttime sugar cravings. Strange side effect. Didn't touch my food noise or weight at all otherwise. Semaglutide though, that actually worked, and worked well.

Really just relying on my diet here, and while I've lost weight, I suspect that's more from the diet itself than anything else. Still feel like eating pretty much constantly. What's the deal? I'm on semaglutide, heading into week seven at a 0.5mg dose. Fifteen pounds down so far, but again it feels driven mostly by what I'm eating rather than the medication. Does the craving eventually let up?

My guess is a fair number of us are walking around with insulin resistance that's never been diagnosed, so wanting less coffee might just come down to this medication finally letting your body pull the energy it needs from whatever you're already eating.

Something I picked up from pop-science YouTube channels, going by published research: semaglutide doesn't switch off pleasure across the board, it dulls the highest peak of pleasure from eating, alcohol and some drugs. Through my own experience, that's exactly what separates a satisfying dinner from a binge high.

Pre-meds, I adored smores and ate several each night. Stopping at two was hard, sometimes I binged up to 6 :( Once semaglutide began, they vanished from my thoughts. Wild. Recently I craved one, and after two bites I felt satisfied and binned the remainder. This has driven home that obesity is a genuine disease, no moral failing.
