GLP-1 first-timers: when did it kick in?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Started at .25, went .5, dropped 25 in half a year. Now low and slow on small doses every couple weeks to hold it. Lots of protein but still losing muscle—at 56 the skin sag is real. Scared to stop though, always comes back after menopause tanked my metabolism before.

split dosing works for me. flattens out the hunger spikes and the heartburn junk that happens after the weekly shot. weight's just melting off now honestly.

Most people notice the appetite shift somewhere in week 2-4 - the first dose is often quiet and the effect builds over the first few injections.

Just had my first injection, still get hungry, but I feel satisfied after just a few bites, and my sugar cravings have noticeably dropped already. Only a couple days in though, so if this is just placebo, it probably won't hold up much longer.

Just started myself too. Second dose is tomorrow. First one came with zero side effects besides some mild constipation. Appetite suppression hit almost right away, and my blood glucose numbers improved dramatically too.

There's a website out there worth playing around with, shows exactly how this medication's concentration spikes the day after a shot and gradually tapers off across the week. So no surprise hunger might creep back in during the back half of the week.

Dealt with a nasty stomach virus not long ago and it was genuinely awful. I think this medication made everything feel worse. Wouldn't rule out it being some combination of food poisoning or a stomach virus layered on top of a dose that's still building up in my system. Roughly three to four weeks in is typically when a given dose reaches its peak effect.

Half-life is about 6 days, and reaching full concentration takes 5 half-lives, same for exiting your body. Have you used any glp1 before? People say that changes appetite suppression. Also others are right that your dose is only where trials began. Bumping up until you feel effects is fine. Better to take the proper amount and see results than 'microdose' so it lasts while effects are nonexistent.

My first injection was 2.5 mg three days ago. A bagel came right before it, and at my next meal I my portion was noticeably reduced. Since then Ive barely felt hungry, but I still nibble tiny portions now and then. Because Ive been eating so much less, it took two days for a bowel movement, though I was completely regular before. Ive felt slightly tired too, though I might just be under-hydrated. No other side effects so far. My stomach may growl, yet hunger itself is absent. This morning at breakfast, a first, I hit a point where I really didnt want another bite, and it was already a far smaller portion than normal, like on day one.

It's only your 2nd dose, and results take a while. If it's R, it has little appetite suppression. It also depends whether it's your first GLP. Usual start is 2mg, though a lower one works for certain people.

Isn't that exactly the point of GLP drugs? Are you on them, or only dieting? Seven days is too early for a working dose. If you did start, effects strengthen with dose increases, so hunger falls and eating healthy gets easier.
