Reta REALLY speeding up weight loss?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Wait, do you mean the loss wasn't faster than normal, or that you'd stalled entirely and saw no movement at all? Both could technically apply, but saying "faster than normal" suggests you were still losing regardless.

Done a decent amount of digging on this topic.
If reta's working well for you and you're keeping a strict deficit or fasting, the anecdotal consensus points to ghrh compounds, aod, and hgh giving the best combined results.

5-amino-1mq is more of a wildcard, not really marketed for weight loss specifically, but I've got some coming and I'm curious to dig into it. Expecting some loss, just not anything dramatic on the scale.

The more weight there was to lose initially, the easier that early drop tends to come off. Doesn't sound out of the ordinary at all.

Losing over a pound weekly already puts this at a solid, sustainable rate. Going faster than that raises real risk around gallbladder trouble, hair loss, maybe loose skin too. Not clear what the rush is about honestly. This is one specific experience though, nobody else's really applies here.

Been on reta for a while now.

Started low and gradually stepped up over several weeks.

Started at a higher weight and currently sitting notably lower, so total loss over that stretch adds up to a solid chunk so far.

Yo-yoed with my weight my whole life. Even dropped 60 pounds naturally once, no medication involved. Kicked off the third compound in early June, and 27 pounds have come off in that stretch. What genuinely threw me was how noticeably my face has slimmed down.

Whenever I've dropped weight before, my facial features were always dead last to change, but this time around it happened first, which was a real surprise.

Curious whether that pattern's showing up for anyone else too.

Shed 10 lbs during that first stretch on Reta, mostly fluid. Averaged out to 2.16 lbs weekly across the full stretch. Total drop now sits at 29.8% of my starting body weight over 36 weeks, apparently outperforming the clinical trial numbers. Reta's honestly become my go-to.

Currently averaging somewhere between 2 and 2.5 pounds weekly. Down 18 pounds since starting the third compound. Lost roughly 50 pounds the traditional way before I even got access to that one.

Went from 260 to 218 the traditional route over roughly a year

Stalled out for several months, watched a few friends get great results on reta, decided to try it myself.

Dropped from 218 to 198 in ten weeks on reta. Lost 4 pounds immediately in week one (mostly water), so setting that aside, averaging close to 1.8lbs weekly. Targeting 1.5-2.0lbs a week, so right in my ideal range currently. Holding at 4mg until something changes.

This puzzle fascinates me, since plenty of folks on here claim reta quiets hunger and food noise to a lesser degree than tirz, yet every study shows more weight loss. I doubt the gap in how much hunger is cut is truly that large. Suppose glucagon agonism adds 100kcal a day of burn over tirz: about 36500 kcal a year, or roughly 5 kg of fat at 7700 kcal per kg. Reta's extra loss is about exactly that, 29% vs 24/25%, starting from 100kg with at least 30 percent excess weight. So with equal appetite suppression it works out perfectly in theory, and reta could still come out ahead with milder appetite effects, but only when it lifts daily burn beyond 100 kcal.

Male, 50. Start weight 171 lbs, now 158. Reta start was six weeks back at 0.5mg per shot, one shot each 3rd day for a month, then upped to 1mg on that same schedule during these last two weeks. Eating about 1800 kcal with at least 100g protein. Noom got me from 165 to 150 but it held only a fortnight before I shot back to 170. Fasting failed too, since I overate anyway on one or two meals daily, and booze was still a problem throughout. Now I log calories and macros in an app and reta makes the deficit far easier to live with. I honestly don't know my goal weight. Rock climbing matters hugely to me, and I climbed well anywhere between 135 and 145. Reta also seems to let me keep muscle while dropping fat, so my goal may end up higher than I thought once I reach my target BF%.
