Feeling sick all the time on sema?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
The individual variation in GI tolerance across family members who presumably share some genetic background is one of the more interesting clinical observations - the same metabolic rate or gut motility profile doesn't mean the same receptor response. Your sister's experience is genuinely representative of a subset of people for whom the medication is not tolerable; yours is equally representative of the majority.

Really glad to hear that. Only some uncomfortable nausea on my end so far, nothing bad enough that I feel like I'll actually throw up. Zofran genuinely helped! Appreciate the advice.

My theory is this drug class also leaves a gap in life that food used to fill.

Started three days back, today's day four, and while everywhere I've read says it silences food noise entirely, that hasn't been my experience. Constantly thinking about whether my stomach's upset, whether eating something would settle it, whether I've eaten enough today, what's causing all this awful burping, whether my choices are actually good ones, what to eat next, on and on. All while eating way less overall and without the intense carb cravings I used to deal with.

On injection day itself, water was basically the whole menu, plus a small handful of berries in the morning, part of a lower-carb wrap later, and some candy tossed in since I felt my blood pressure dip. That covered the entire day. Suspect there's an adjustment period ahead, but we'll land on our feet.

Appreciate the detail! I relate to the iron-stomach thing too, except during pregnancy. Nauseous straight through delivery day, brutal heartburn plus first-trimester constipation, so reading these listed as typical semaglutide side effects has me a little on edge. Your experience is comforting though, glad it's stayed manageable for you!

Yep, spent four weeks at a small starting amount with nausea that stayed mostly bearable, though far from pleasant, and honestly it kept building week after week. Bumped up to the next amount on week five like directed, and got violently sick the entire stretch, nothing stayed down. Doctor had me drop back to the smaller amount, so I did that both last week and this one. Figured last week's misery might've just been lingering fallout from the bump, but no, this week's identical. Managed roughly a quarter piece of toast along with a few crackers, spread across two full days. Pretty clear at this point that I'm done taking it, curious what the doctor recommends next for the blood sugar problem. Everything smells off, nothing tastes good, nothing wants to stay in my stomach, and I'm just tired of this cycle, especially since none of it seems to be keeping my blood sugar up anyway given how little I can manage to eat!

Honestly this whole thing stinks. Loved how my body felt after that first 40-plus pound drop on Semaglutide. Did trigger stomach spasms though, rough enough that I needed medication for it. Two years in, the food chatter crept back regardless. By then I was in maintenance, just two shots monthly. Decided to try the other compound through a different provider since it runs cheaper than my old clinic. They started me at the lowest possible amount, so maybe once I climb higher the weight loss picks back up, who knows. Just genuinely unhappy with my body right now.
