The individual variation in GI tolerance across family members who presumably share some genetic background is one of the more interesting clinical observations - the same metabolic rate or gut motility profile doesn't mean the same receptor response. Your sister's experience is genuinely representative of a subset of people for whom the medication is not tolerable; yours is equally representative of the majority.
