Reta - When does the magic happen?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Reta hit me pretty hard right from 1mg too - almost uncomfortably strong appetite suppression in the first week. I had to actually remind myself to eat. Everyone responds differently though so not seeing the effect at 1mg doesn't mean it won't come at a higher dose.

Starting at 2.5mg and hitting 4mg without much suppression and then cagri switching things up is useful to hear. Reta alone at those doses not doing much is more common than the forums suggest. What did the hunger feel like differently once cagri came into the picture?

2mg to 3mg for 4 weeks with no movement and prior Tirz experience in the mix - prior Tirz can sometimes mean the receptor pathway needs longer to show up cleanly on Reta. What's appetite doing, any difference there even if the scale hasn't moved?

286 to 266 in 1.5 months before adding Reta and then 5.3 lbs and 2.5 lbs in the first two weeks on it is a strong early response. 4 weeks at a given dose is enough data to make a meaningful decision on whether to adjust. What did decision day land on?

On shot six now, four rounds at 2.5mg and two at 5mg, still haven't had a single side effect. Starting to wonder if something's off with me. Down about 4-5 kilos total over these six weeks, honestly a bit let down by that.

That '1 to 3 days' claim is a massive exaggeration for most people honestly. Some don't feel anything positive until doses climb a lot higher. A handful feel it almost instantly. Most people land somewhere in the middle.

Give it time.

Appreciate it! Going to see how the next injection sits with me, honestly even this current level of quieter food noise feels unusual for me. Also a bit hesitant to titrate up too fast, worried about what side effects might show up.

Just took my third shot today, type 2 diabetic here, and honestly zero side effects, no appetite change either. Barely two pounds down so far. Pretty frustrating.

Should've stuck it out honestly since not everybody reacts the same or at the same pace. Seen these meds work incredible things for plenty of people, but patience is key. At least give the stronger doses a fair shot. Takes some working with.

Had entire weeks where the effect just wasn't there. Zero appetite suppression, made me second-guess whether the injection went in properly. Happens sometimes, could just be an off dose. There's a whole thread floating around somewhere covering this exact pattern, people feeling different from one week to the next or between alternating doses.

Kicked things off six weeks back with the fifth and first compounds. Feeling fantastic so far with solid appetite control. Began the fifth compound at .50 mg for the first month, then bumped to 1mg roughly three weeks ago (still going well). Curious about trying the mitochondrial peptide next. Wishing you luck on your own path.

Started just a little before you did. Spent two weeks doing 0.5 three times weekly. No real issues besides some sleep disruption. This past Saturday I switched over to 1 mg once weekly instead. That first full-mg shot hasn't caused problems either, aside from sleep still being affected. Can't say the mental chatter around food has quieted much, but I'm noticing less urge to eat and filling up quicker. Planning to stay here a few weeks and if things stay smooth, maybe consider bumping to 2mg, but taking it slow.

Slow responder here. Starting weight 285, BMI about 36; I peaked around 300 last Oct-Nov, then started OMAD fasting and moving more and reached 285 by Jan. Four months of OMAD later I'd stalled completely, even with extra walking. So two weeks ago I began reta and stepped up my activity a lot (rowing machine on weekdays, kettlebells Mon, Wed, Fri). First week: one 1mg shot, then a 4 day wait to watch for reactions (none), then another 1mg. Second week I moved to 2mg every 7 days for the rest of month one. The scale has barely budged (284 now, thanks to less food and harder workouts). I feel sated faster in my OMAD window and need to drink enough, but side effects are nearly nil. Now I'm throwing myself into activity and hoping, impatiently, that real results appear as month 1 closes.

Starting week 4! Numbers: female, 5'7, peak 221, with 46 lost before starting Reta, started at 175, now 167 (2 pounds down from last week), first goal 160, second goal 140. Dose four went in this morning, again 1 mg, and depending on hunger and weight loss this week I may go to 1.5 mg. Blood sugar: my CCM alarms rarely at night now and only occasionally by day, so my system seems to be adjusting nicely. Half an hour after hard sports it still goes off, and a quick bite sorts it. My guess is Reta nudged my blood sugar a bit lower from day one, but my body brings it back into range pretty fast, except following a grueling 2 hour session, the usual bonk. The sensor's last 3 days are running, then the blood sugar data stops. Hunger: some hunger and food noise returned this week.

Appetite suppression showed up almost right away, with some tiredness over the next 3 days. The first shot killed my interest in food for two or three days. I still ate, but couldnt be bothered. Now im on my 7th shot at 2.5mg with no noticeable side effects. The suppression is much subtler, more about skipping snack thoughts than zero interest in food. The tiredness has mostly gone. 7 weeks brought 4.5kg off and my target is 13kg, so im happy with the pace. Feels more like settling into a new normal than a fast change.

Not depressing to me at all, plenty of other non-responders here like me. I take it mostly for insulin and longevity reasons, so it's really a personal experiment. I'm in my sixth month at 6mg and hungrier than ever. I'll wrap up my reta experiment soon.
