Slow weight loss on sema a worry?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
That's amazing, matches almost exactly how my own weight loss went. Wouldn't try to rush past that pace, the opening months tend to move fastest before things settle into something steadier, at least Sema keeps a consistent rhythm for me. Also feel like shedding weight too quickly risks taking muscle along with it, worth throwing in some strength training if you're able to.

Results really do vary. Went with Sema originally because of the price. Down 40 pounds over 10 months with just 15 left to hit goal. Barely had any side effects either, aside from a couple in those first few weeks.

First week's numbers came in like this:

Started the week at 104.90kg, weighed in this morning at 103.60kg, a drop of 1.30kg, about 2.8lbs, across seven days.

During that stretch I've been easing back into exercise, roughly 6km of running plus a couple gym sessions adding up to about two hours total. Aware the drop is probably mostly water and glycogen rather than actual fat, but everything starts somewhere I guess.

Didn't notice much from the injection itself, increased my protein intake and steered away from junk, though honestly I suspect that's more about the excitement of starting fresh than anything the medication's actually doing yet. Zero side effects so far, no real appetite suppression or food aversion, sleep's been fine too, so today I bumped the amount up to 1mg.

Question though. The reconstituted vial I've got, sitting in the fridge inside a refillable pen, holds 20mg total. Given how little I'm using per dose, that single vial is going to stretch out for quite a while. How long is it actually safe to keep using from this same vial? Was thinking capping it at five weeks, does that sound about right, too long, or too short?

Thanks everyone!

Felt my appetite drop and started avoiding food within four hours of that very first shot. Dose was 2.5mg.

Also, saw earlier in this thread someone claiming it usually takes about eight weeks to see weight loss, I've got the opposite experience to share.

Mine started dropping in week one and hasn't let up since, holding steady at 2-3 lbs weekly.

Worth mentioning though, I climbed the dose quickly, moving from 2.5 weekly up to 5, then 7.5, then 8, back down to 6, then back up to 7.5, roughly week by week. Some rough patches showed up from fatigue, not eating enough, and low electrolytes.

Also split my daily dose most days to even out the highs and lows in my system while staying pretty active.

Dropped 10 lbs that first month and roughly that much most months following.

Assuming you spent four weeks on the entry amount before your fifth and sixth shots at the next level up, real progress usually isn't expected quite yet. Some people see minor drops early just from swelling coming down, but beyond that you're still in the phase where your system's adjusting to keep side effects manageable, still considered a warm-up period.

Once you hit the therapeutic amount is when things typically start showing up.

Meanwhile, how's your calorie intake looking, running a deficit? Meeting your daily protein target? Getting enough fiber, roughly 25-35 grams? Drinking enough fluids each day? Given the season, electrolytes might be worth adding. Doing any resistance work? Even bodyweight moves like squats or pushups count. Or just walking for now works too, aim for around 8500 steps daily.

Do you actually know what numbers make sense for your specific body and activity level? A TDEE calculator can help nail that down.

Most people badly underestimate their true calorie intake and just how much protein they're really getting.

Good luck to you!

Down to 213lbs from 225. Just took my ninth injection today. This was already my fourth round staying at 3mg, chose not to bump up further given I'm still steadily losing. Appetite suppression isn't huge for me, but overeating even slightly leaves me uncomfortably full fast. Genuinely feels like it's doing its job, and while I might eventually try the next level up, there's no rush on my end.

Thank you, that's really helpful.

Just want to confirm, with the single-pathway medication I can get a prescription for a certain weekly amount but inject less than that? Mine ranges from just over one down to three-quarters depending on how I'm doing.

Thanks again.
