Does Mounjaro remove the mental high from alcohol?

...or can everyone else still actually drink? Because drinking still happens here, just without getting properly 'drunk' anymore.

Never really was a heavy drinker, but always had a complicated relationship with it, the 'one is never enough' kind, and there's a family history of alcoholism too.

Started mounjaro two weeks back and the buzzy part of drinking vanished almost instantly. Drinks still happen, but that intoxicated feeling just doesn't show up anymore. Having more than one still shows physically, standing up makes that obvious, but the mental side just isn't there. No craving for more either, like the mental effect got disconnected from the physical one entirely.

Only two weeks in, but if this holds, this might genuinely be the cure for something that's always felt hereditary and unbeatable. Still wondering though, is this just what normal people always experienced with alcohol, and mounjaro simply leveled the playing field?

Same here almost exactly. I'm only 5 weeks in and alcohol just feels bad now instead of fun, no buzz, just tired and slightly off the next day. I used to be a 'one drink turns into five' person too so I'm not complaining, just weird how fast it flipped.

I noticed the same thing on sema but it came back a bit once I switched to tirz, so it might not be identical across the class even if the mechanism is related. Family history of alcoholism here too and I've had the same thought, that this is maybe just giving us what other people's brains already do naturally.

This is wild to read because I've had almost the opposite, still get the same buzz just don't want a second drink after. Everyone's chemistry must react to it differently.

There's actual research starting to come out on GLP-1s and the reward pathway for alcohol, not just food, so what you're describing isn't just anecdotal. Two weeks is early though, I'd keep an eye on whether it holds once your body adjusts to the dose, some effects that show up strong at first mellow out a bit by month two or three.
