Maintenance week 16

Okay everyone, wanted to share this photo in a sport bikini today, mainly to give an honest look at what losing 30kg actually looks like for a woman further along in age with reasonably decent, though not flawless, skin elasticity. None of this comes from a negative place, genuinely thrilled overall with how things turned out. This whole journey gave life back in a real way, and both maintenance and the slow titration down have gone smoother than expected. Not effortless, but there's a trip happening right now that's just being enjoyed without overanalyzing every detail. Wanted this out there mostly as some grounded, positive honesty about the other side of this whole process. Stick with it, it genuinely pays off.

Ha, the boobs, mine are shocking :O. I've totally lost my curvy backside :D. My sagging inner thighs plus upper arms dragged my mood for a while. I printed a photo showing my heaviest self next to the smallest and stuck it on the fridge. The difference is night and day. Factoring in my age, I see now it's not too bad, it could have been far worse. We rock!

Making use of this newer section of the forum built for topics like this.

About 50 lbs lighter after roughly eight months on tirz, and starting to notice some concerns with how my skin looks.

Also been running subcutaneous copper peptide, plus a topical combining that peptide with hyaluronic acid, on top of collagen supplements. Skin and hair quality have genuinely never been this good!

That said, the past few weeks I've started spotting the early signs of loose, sagging skin right where the biggest losses happened, mainly around my throat, upper legs, and stomach.

I know some amount of loose skin probably comes with the territory after significant weight loss, but I'd really like to minimize it as much as possible. Too young for wrinkles, come on!

Anyone found serums, supplements, treatments, workouts, or other tricks that genuinely helped with skin firmness or elasticity? Would love to hear what's worked, or flopped, for other people!

Edit: forgot to mention I'm lifting weights a couple times a week, two or three sessions.

Congrats on getting through this whole process! You look fantastic!

Mind if I ask a few things about the tummy tuck? On a fairly similar path myself and will need to figure out that procedure eventually after losing roughly 60 kilos. Hence all the questions.

1. Before your procedure, was the overhanging section purely loose skin, or did it include a fat component too, and did that composition matter for qualifying? Mine feels like a mix of both, though I haven't actually consulted a surgeon yet to know for sure.
2. Did the surgery itself take off any weight on its own? If so, roughly how much, and did that factor into when you stopped losing and entered maintenance? Like, was your stopping point set a bit above true goal weight, anticipating the procedure would close that final gap?
3. Was staying at a stable weight for a stretch of time a requirement before your doctors greenlit the procedure?
4. Was pausing the dual-action medication beforehand something your surgeon required? And did that lead to any regain?
5. What was recovery actually like, and how painful would you say it was?
6. Did insurance cover any part of it? If so, what criteria did you have to meet? If not, roughly what did it run you?

Sorry for the flood of questions, feel free to skip whatever you'd rather not answer

Congrats on the loss and on keeping it off! I'm still 8kg (17lb) away from where I want to land, and I'm putting money aside for skin removal surgery. I'd planned to hold off a minimum of a year, but maybe I should wait longer...
