Can't believe how good I feel!

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Yes, completely agree! Eighteen months into Mounjaro and my A1C's gone from 11 down to 5. Weight came off too, but honestly the diabetes improvement means more to me than the number on the scale.

On the other hand, I've honestly never felt better since starting MJ. Dealing with PCOS meant my hormones were completely out of whack, wild mood swings, thick brain fog, plus never being able to shed weight no matter what and feeling awful constantly. Once mounjaro entered the picture, everything changed. My mood evened out, energy's improved (mostly, there are still occasional exhausted days), still carrying extra weight but for once I'm actually able to lose any at all.

Not trying to invalidate anyone else's story, this is purely what worked for me, and everyone's path looks different. Was nervous starting a glp1 given how scary some side effect stories sounded, but genuinely relieved I went through with it.

Coming up on a full year on Mounjaro and only felt nauseous a single time. For every rough experience posted here about MJ, there's dozens of good ones too. I've lost 70 pounds and my a1c sits at 5 now. Keep your chin up, you'll get there!

Many talk about side effects; mine was mild nausea lasting one or two weeks. Mounjaro is my only diabetes medication for T2, and the speed of its effect stunned me! I think doctors and patients both expect doses to keep rising, yet after 8 months Im still on the starting 2.5mg. Losing weight came as a lovely bonus, 30+ pounds averaging a slow pound weekly. Some stretches of 2-3 weeks show nothing, then 2-3 pounds vanish in a single week. The best part (besides glucose entirely in non-diabetic territory!) is feeling so much at ease in my own skin. Im wearing shorts again! I know my experience isnt typical, and slow weight loss wouldnt satisfy someone paying a lot each week (Medicare plus a supplemental drug plan makes mine nearly free), but the slow pace suits me.

I began Mounjaro strictly for T2 diabetes. It's the first and only diabetes medication I use, and it's fabulous. My fasting glucose ran in the 160s before, and within three days it was in the 90s and has stayed there. A1C dropped, 7.8 before and 5.5 now. The 2.5mg starter dose worked so well that I've stayed put and never requested a higher dose. I've also lost 30 pounds, but the diabetes results mean way more to me. I generally feel better, and I can't say how much is the Mounjaro compared with the weight loss, though the drug likely deserves some credit. My BP has dropped a bit as well.

cozy_pecan my a1c was sitting at 9.4 back in december. started eating properly around then and was also on insulin at the time. began mounjaro in april and ive since lost 85lbs, my a1c sits at 4.9 these days and im completely off insulin. it has absolutely done what its originally meant to do in terms of helping manage diabetes.
