Finally did it! My first dose!

Stayed on the standard titration plan of 4 weeks at each level till I hit 8mg. Around 6mg the food chatter quieted but 8 was truly the game changer-dropped 30 pounds over roughly 8-10 weeks. Now at goal weight and hunting for the right maintenance level. Don't give up, it's worth sticking with...

    Hit a HUGE milestone today!

Good day all, I got back from strolling around my property, shouting "one hundred pounds!" at the top of my lungs. For a while now, I told myself that when I reached 100 pounds lost, I'd make some noise in my neighborhood. Well, today's the day. I still have another 75-ish pounds to go, but...

    GLP-1s changed my life!

It's interesting how much GLP-1s shift your whole relationship with food and exercise. Like, I *know* I need to move more to retain muscle while losing weight, but the med makes it less of a mental battle to actually get out there.

Almost 3/4 of the way to my goal!

It's funny how people react to weight loss. I've dropped about 45 pounds, going from around 195 to 150 at 5'7". The last 20 or so were with a GLP-1 because my meds messed with my appetite. My BP is finally behaving itself, and I feel great. But some people keep telling me to stop losing weight...

    Hit Onderland - anyone else?!

That's really interesting about dancing! I have a friend who says she can now play with her kids without getting winded. Small victories make a big difference. She's using one of the newer weight management meds, might be why.

    Life changing meds!

I can relate, JerseyGirl_Health. I haven't told many people. It's nobody's business, really. If people ask how I've lost weight, I just say I'm watching portions and limiting carbs. It's the truth!

    Hit Onderland - anyone else?!

Congratulations!! I totally understand that feeling of thinking never to be under 200lbs again. Great job so far and good luck reaching your ultimate goal!

    Life changing meds!

I understand that feeling. I wasn’t able to walk all the way up to the top of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. My sweetie went up without me. It was our anniversary trip, and I wasn’t feeling sexy or beautiful. I carry excess weight in my face also. I wish I could redo that trip as the woman I am...

    5 Years on GLP-1s?!

I'm very interested in the skin removal surgery. Did your health insurance cover it? How difficult was the recovery? How noticeable are the scars? Do you have any regrets about getting it done? Congrats on your weight loss!

7.5mg - from zero to hero to...zero again?

I've read that Tirzepatide, which includes medications like Mounjaro, works by activating both GIP and GLP-1 receptors. I saw a presentation by an endocrinologist, Dr. Blevins, that showed people can see an average weight reduction of 35-52 lbs. It's good to understand how these meds work!
