Any experience with GLP1 and addictive behaviors?

My doctor also treats addiction and told me research shows GLP1 drugs dull the urge for alcohol and other substances, opiates included. They interfere with the brain's reward system, so a drink stops delivering its old payoff, and with no pleasure attached the urge drops. Researchers are even...

    Almost hit my big milestone!

What a huge milestone, great job. When I reached it I was thrilled, and now my target is under 90! Keep going. You're doing great and small wins along the road keep you motivated!

    Keeping Muscle on GLP-1s

Exercise isn't mandatory on a GLP-1. Skipping it, though, risks serious muscle loss and wastes a chance to squeeze full value from your meds.

    3 Years on Zep/MJ!

A relative with T2D, quite overweight, has used MJ for 2 years and spent about that long at the top dose. Roughly 20lbs gone, maybe, and no more. Glad my body responded the way it did.

Doctor had to switch me from Rybelsus to the Ozempic pill and my cost more than doubled

Brand Ozempic goes for $90 at just about any pharmacy. The price was cut to compete with generics.

    Mounjaro changed my life!

Sitting at a 22 BMI now and still running mounjaro, planning a bit more loss before shifting into upkeep mode. Started this whole thing back at a 30 BMI though. Honestly wouldn't touch this medication if my numbers looked like they do now and I wasn't dealing with weight climbing the second I...

    Titration Troubles & Tolerance?

15mg Tirz is unfortunately where I've settled for maintenance. Layering reta in now hoping to jumpstart things again since I've been stuck at this same weight and dose for nearly a year. Pushed to 20mg Tirz, added Survo, then Cagri, none of it moved the scale. Good news is 15mg Tirz keeps my 80...

    Lost weight TOO fast?

Kicked in surprisingly fast, appetite dropped almost right away. Worked almost too well at first, lost several pounds within the first week. Probably water weight mostly, since things leveled off afterward into a more expected pace. These days it's just mild nausea at most.

    Weird Sweet Cravings on GLP-1s?

Genuinely helps to have some kind of reward waiting in the wings when the restriction starts feeling like a fight in your head. Sweets have always been my weakness, so I stocked the freezer with some lighter fudge bars for whenever that pull gets strong. Funny thing is, most of the time the urge...

Down 25+ lbs in ~2 months!

Congrats! Dropped 2 lbs in my opening week. Genuinely incredible watching the number move without any of that lightheaded, dizzy, starved feeling. <3

    Reta kicking hypertension's butt!

Just two weeks into reta, had a doctor visit this morning. Blood pressure looked great, heart rate matched last visit. Still waiting on bloodwork results. Hoping my August follow up shows some cholesterol improvement, really want off the statin at this point.

    Transitioning to maintenance...

Hoping not. Five pounds out and already thinking about scaling back to a maintenance amount. Currently at 8mg, considering working down toward 4mg. Never planning to fully quit reta though. Still can't quite believe I've lost 50 pounds so far, heading toward 55. Some stubborn belly fat left...

    Scary rebound after titrating down?

Same boat as you, decided to start fresh just like the first time around. Ramping up gradually really helps your body readjust to it.

    Tirz is changing my life!

Heart rate dropped by roughly twenty beats each minute, and pretty much overnight too. Genuinely enjoy watching that steep downward line on my phone's health tracking app. Stayed consistently lower ever since too.

Big Food Strikes Back at GLP-1s?

Spotted a frozen single-serve meal at Walmart with a big glp1-friendly label slapped on it and had to laugh. Ingredients list was still garbage underneath the marketing. Barely 30g protein in a chicken dish too. Somebody's gonna grab that off the shelf thinking they're making a smart choice.

    Mounjaro Noob: A Cautionary Tale

That honestly sounds like a bad plan. Adding metformin into the mix would make way more sense. Mounjaro has its limits. Might be worth waiting on retatrutide once that gets approved.

    GLP-1 shots every 5 or 6 days?

Twenty three months in at this point. Countless injections. Currently running a five day cycle. Have also cycled through six and seven day gaps previously.

First Ozempic dose - I'm stoked!

Appreciate the info, genuinely. All I really knew going in was that my doctor put me on Ozempic. Had zero clue this other medication even existed.

    Don't sleep on yogurt

Yogurt really doesn't get enough credit, and the nausea relief tracks completely, way gentler on the stomach than something like chicken when the medication's in full effect. Solid suggestion.

New source arrived. Anyone else try it?

Well, first shipment coming in right after the holiday. Planning to run tirz alongside mots-c and see how that goes. If it's anything like your experience, sounds like it'll free up a huge chunk of mental bandwidth.
