Just FYI, it's the same situation here in Australia. :/ Only covered by our subsidized system if you have diabetes. :(

    Ozempic: for the wealthy?

So, sounds like if you're rich, you get Ozempic. If not, just stay positive about your body. :/

    Restarting GLP-1s: My bad experience

Amazon ships bad syringes to california for some reason. Better syringes come from online diabetes supply stores.

7 Months on Mounjaro - Stall is OK!

I'm also worried about extra skin. I'm in my mid-60s, and I've heard it's harder for older skin to bounce back after weight loss. I'm thinking about incorporating collagen supplements and maybe some targeted exercises to help with that. Has anyone had success with those?

7 Months on Mounjaro - Stall is OK!

F65 here, losing at a good pace for 5 months. Have you had any issues with extra skin? I'm worried about the 'rolls' still being there when I reach my goal. 😕

Thank you all for the encouragement! It really helps to stay motivated. I know I still have a ways to go, but every pound down is a victory. And yes, I plan to update everyone when I hit the 300s! It feels like such a far-off dream still.

Down 100+ lbs - Body Image Changes!

Back when I was hospitalized with edema and struggling with both hypercapnia and heart problems, my weight hit a peak of 711 pounds. After starting on semaglutide, then switching to tirzepatide, I was down to 566 pounds, having already shed a lot of fluid. Now, I'm at 460, which I realize...

One year on GLP-1s: My story

Wow, just amazing. No offense, but you looked like you were carrying more weight in your before picture. Your success is really something. If you haven't, try adding some weight lifting! Squats or trap bar deadlifts would work wonders and challenge most of your body. Include some rows and...

    Glycine: Good for blood sugar?

Wow, Sunny_Cookie390, that's amazing! My A1c is still kinda high even with diet changes. Maybe I should ask my doc about GLP-1 meds too. I'd love to lose some weight, too. It's encouraging to hear it's working for you.

Oops... a little extra. Am I screwed?

I'm starting Tirz next week for insulin resistance. I'm kinda nervous. My doc suggested it. I didnt even ask! A friend gave me a judgy look when I told her. Is that weird?

    Mounjaro vs Ozempic?

Kelly_1976, I think I was on it for maybe 6 months during the research trial.

    Mounjaro vs Ozempic?

I was actually in a study for it. My doc thinks I was getting the highest dose, 15 mg. My A1c went from almost 9 to 6 and a half. My weight went down, too, from 180 to under 140. But the study ended, and my insurance won't pay for it now. I've been on Victoza for a couple of months, and I've...
