7 Months on Mounjaro - Stall is OK!

F58 - Pic on the left was just before starting Mounjaro. I was around 183 lbs (83kg), and I'm 5'5".

I've dropped about 64 lbs (29kg). Don't want to lose much more, so I'm bumping up the calories a tad and working on maintenance.

My body seems happy where it's at; the scale isn't budging, and I'm actually cool with that. A good stall, haha.

Now it's all about strength training (tips for an older gal welcome!) and focusing on my mental/emotional health to make sure I'm healthy and independent for years to come.

Biggest piece of advice: drink water, be patient, and not every symptom is from the meds. Sometimes it's just that you devoured a whole pizza and downed three sodas.

And let me brag a little - my waist is 25 inches! 😮

I'm 58 and have been heavy my whole life. Started Mounjaro about a month and a half ago. It's encouraging to see your progress. Some days are great, but the food cravings are super strong some days. Probably need a dose increase. Was it hard to change your eating at first?

I've seen your updates before, and I'm always impressed that you're 58 and not 38, haha. A real example of *58 years young*. Congrats on your successes with tirzep!

You look fantastic! Congrats! Thanks for sharing; it gives hope to a F40 who's been overweight her whole life and struggles with binging.

F65 here, losing at a good pace for 5 months. Have you had any issues with extra skin? I'm worried about the 'rolls' still being there when I reach my goal. 😕

Once you're slim, how do you still get Mounjaro? Don't you need to be a certain weight, or overweight? I'm worried people keep telling me I'll need this drug forever! But I really want to stop once my body is fit (inside and out).

Your loss is similar to mine. I started at 189 and thought I'd stop around 120. I'm 5'5". I went further, hitting 103 at my lowest. That was too low, so I stopped weekly injections and now I only take it once a month. 24-inch waist. I look great in clothes, but in a swimsuit, I'm not so sure. I'm 62 and lost pretty fast, so now I'm trying to build strength and muscle, and gain about 10 pounds. Good luck! You look amazing. I have to say, as an older woman, I felt invisible when I was heavier. Now that I'm thinner, I get compliments on my looks and style, even though my style hasn't changed. It was a bit intoxicating, I think. I'm realizing that and working on it. 🩷

You are looking amazing! I'm trying this again after a month on Mounjaro before. Two weeks in, and I'm still hungry and not seeing results yet. Your post is encouraging because I started around the same weight as you! Hoping to see a change this week 🤞

For anyone feeling discouraged, remember that some people are 'slow responders.' I read a post where someone didn't see results from similar medication for almost 3 months! But they stuck with it and now they're losing consistently. Don't give up hope! It might just take longer for your body to adjust.

Honestly, the medication helped a lot with that. I'd get full really quickly, and the cravings were almost non-existent. It's still important to make healthy choices, of course, but it definitely made it easier.

I'm also worried about extra skin. I'm in my mid-60s, and I've heard it's harder for older skin to bounce back after weight loss. I'm thinking about incorporating collagen supplements and maybe some targeted exercises to help with that. Has anyone had success with those?

Thank you PinLady for the tip about being a slow responder! I'm in my second week, and I haven't seen any changes, so it's good to know that it might just take some time. I was getting discouraged.

It's so inspiring to see everyone's success! I saw someone mention losing over 90 lbs in 9 months on a similar medication, and it just 'clicked' for them. They've had a lot of health issues linked to being overweight and it's like a total transformation. Hoping for similar success!
