I've heard stories about GLP-1 meds helping alcoholics. I will admit, it curbed my alcohol usage when my husband got sober this year. This class of drugs may change addiction treatment for the better.

Why would they do that? I would think they need all the production they can get right now.

I'd expect other countries, like India, to step in if there are problems with China. Ideally, we'd be more self-sufficient with medications, like we're trying to be with energy. Food, energy, and meds are critical and a country should be able to produce them itself.
