    GLP-1s: No more excuses?

Are we really? Most people don't lose as much weight as they do with surgery when taking GLP-1s. And even people who have surgery are still overweight when they stabilize.

    GLP-1s: No more excuses?

I'm glad she has your support. It's a really strange time. Disruptive. The medical community has a lot of fears about hormone therapy because of a study in 2002 that has been refuted in multiple papers since then. The North American Menopause Society (NAMS) supports HRT in most cases, here's a...

    GLP-1s: No more excuses?

Oh my. It isn't always a 1-off event when women's hormones decline rapidly. Women who undergo surgical menopause, yes. The rest of us have around 10 years of the system winding down, and our symptoms are not given proper consideration unless it's related to sex. A single event that requires 10...

    UK Folks: Sharps Disposal?

Just remember the area you inject can change the speed that your dose works! The navel area has the speediest absorption, then the upper arm, and then the legs and butt. If you work out a limb right after injecting the uptake may also be quicker there.

    Mounjaro to peps... what's next?

Hello! I'm a registered nurse. For the sore area, go to your local pharmacy and purchase silicone foam dressings. Ensure the area is clean and dry before applying. Change as often as needed to keep it clean/dry. See your primary care physician if it worsens. Frequent position changes...

    GLP-1s: No more excuses?

I'm sorry, but not everyone is a candidate for GLP-1 drugs or similar medications.

    UK Folks: Sharps Disposal?

I meant to include hospitals in my initial response but left it out. Like I said, if those public health centers don't take them, they'll know someone who does. You'll get it sorted!

    UK Folks: Sharps Disposal?

I'm not 100% sure about the UK but where I'm at there are city or county services for public health and safety that deal with this issue. If they can't take it, they should have leads on who does. My partner is in medicine, so we have the luxury of taking ours to her clinic.

    Celebrating progress!

For anyone experiencing rapid weight loss like someone mentioned earlier, it’s important to monitor your calorie and protein intake. Sudden drops can sometimes indicate underlying issues, so it's always best to consult with your doctor if you have concerns.

    Tirz dosing - what's 'enough'?

Wanted to pipe in and say that you definitely don't need a massive dose to see results. I've seen people lose a bunch of weight (like upwards of 45lbs) on just 0.25mg. Listen to your body and watch for side effects, like no-more-snacks said.

    Down 22lbs in 3 months!

Congrats, PlateauCrusher - that's quite an accomplishment! I'm a nurse, and I'm down about 75 pounds myself. I went from a size 2x to a medium in scrubs! Almost to my 100-pound goal!

Finally hit my goal -- now what?

My doc says that type 2 diabetes doesn't just go away. You might be in remission, but you're always diabetic. Makes sense to me to stay on a maintenance dose.
