1 Week Down on the Injections!

One week done on the starter dose! Gonna do my next injection tonight and so far, so good.

Nothing bad to report yet. I felt a little crummy the following day, but nothing major. Probably just in my head, anticipating something bad to happen, lol.

Good stuff:

About 9 lbs gone! [👇]

Start weight was 256 (measured first thing in the morning, after the first dose)
Current weight is 247 (measured first thing in the morning, day of the second dose)

Sleeping SO well! Like, deep sleep. Could be because I have two toddlers under 2, and they've been sleeping well too [🤣]. So, grain of salt!

The food thoughts have really calmed down. I still sneak a bite of whatever when making snacks for the kids, but I don't feel like I HAVE to keep snacking all day, especially at night. I'm good after dinner!

Seriously shocked at how well this is going. I'm sure some of it is placebo, but whatever, it's working! Excited to see what happens as I increase the dose.

No working out yet - wanted to see how the first week went. My plan for the next few weeks is to add some workouts and really focus on PROTEIN!

EDIT: Just wrapped up week 4. Doing 0.5mg tomorrow. Down 14 total. The appetite suppression hasn't been crazy the last couple weeks. Still losing, but just barely. Hoping 0.5 will help. Minimal side effects so far, fingers crossed it stays that way. Plan to stay on 0.5 as long as it's effective. Started hitting the gym, doing spin classes and trying to get more protein in.

To @Care_Wine and anyone else just starting out, remember that everyone's experience is different. Don't get discouraged if your progress isn't exactly the same as someone else's!

Pens seemed like too much hassle with timing the plunger just right. Been doing syringes instead, which handles all my weekly doses better. Works for me way more than dealing with pen issues.

Drawing and injecting twice weekly is manageable for me, no big deal. If I was going more frequent, I'd switch to pens first before prefilling batches of syringes. Risk tolerance is personal.

Just started NAD+ today and yeah, it stung going in. 25 mg buffered but still got uncomfortable redness for an hour. Diluted the 500mg vial with 3 mL saline, thinking of adding more. Did IM for glutathione to avoid that so maybe trying IM for this too.

Week one is mostly about tolerability. The protocol exists because the titration window matters - going up before the body adjusts is where most of the rough side effects come from. If this week went smoothly, week two and the dose step to 5mg will be easier.

First week is the hardest because you have no baseline yet. Weeks 2-4 are when you see what your normal on it actually looks like.

Week three is usually the peak for nausea. Week five being better is exactly the pattern - the body adjusts. What you eat in the early weeks matters. Fatty or sweet foods make it worse for most people in that adjustment window.
