Chronic food noise has followed me for years, and portions have been quietly growing, which explains a good chunk of the weight gain. Working out isn't the problem, the real driver is the amount and type of food consumed. Context, a demanding nine to five job and a habit of eating through stress. Fresh out of school with my first real paycheck and my own place now, that new financial freedom has made grabbing whatever sounds good or trying new things constantly way too easy. Growing up where every meal felt like a stretch financially, this new normal has taken getting used to. Also catch myself leaning on eating after rough or exhausting days, rarely the healthy kind, even on days a workout already happened, which undoes the point somewhat. Trying to untangle this whole knot between stress, eating, and rewarding myself, curious whether anyone else has dealt with the same pattern or has tips for managing cravings and stress-driven snacking.

Been on ozempic for three years and down 100 pounds. Wouldn't say it's actually fixed my emotional eating though, still very much an emotional eater at heart. Portions have definitely shrunk, might grab a lighter portion of chips now instead of tearing through the whole bag, but I'm still very much stress-snacking when things get rough.

Food noise is complicated for me. Always could tell the difference between food noise and actual hunger, but the noise side always felt far more pressing. Also never really felt full, so overeating came easy even eating healthy stuff with plenty of protein and fiber.

Ozempic mostly just makes me feel satisfied after a normal-sized portion. Genuinely strange sensation. Been Type 1 for almost 30 years, and before this I never once felt full because of the diabetes. Real eye-opener. Suddenly get how people manage to eat a normal portion and just stop. Before this it took pure willpower, and nobody stays that disciplined every single day for three decades straight when the noise never lets up.

Been meaning to share this. Always had food noise mostly under control, maybe 80 percent, but that remaining 20 percent still had me overeating. Also stayed hungry constantly even right after finishing a full meal. Chalked it up to stress eating, since I've been under serious pressure for as long as I can remember. Now five weeks into tirz, and honestly, it's like a weight lifted, no more food noise, no more constant hunger, just regular meals. Six months of gym work barely showed until these last five weeks, now it makes sense why. Know I'll come off this eventually, and it'll help to work on my mindset so I can ignore those old triggers and keep living without that disordered relationship with food. That shift alone has been huge since food just isn't a constant worry anymore.
