40s and feeeelin' fine!

Maintenance dosing lower than the loss dose is the right approach once goal weight is reached - the question is finding the minimum effective dose for stability rather than staying at maximum. Holding a 30% loss after T2DM resolution on 5mg is a strong case for the tiered dosing approach.

Thank you, wish 7.5 were my ceiling honestly lol. My blood sugar's out of diabetic territory now, but I'm nervous that maxing out at 15 without further movement might push my doctor toward switching me to something else, and I've watched too many friends deal with rough reactions on other options. Mounjaro just feels like the right fit for me. Going to give lifting a shot, maybe throw in some extra cardio too since walking alone hasn't been enough. Appreciate the encouragement on the 50-plus pounds, I'd originally hoped for a full 100 lb loss, but might need to accept where I'm at and shift focus toward toning instead. Did drop four clothing sizes already, so firming up would help round things out. Thanks for taking the time to respond, really value the advice. Congrats again to you too!

Pretty similar path here, minus the age gap. Guy, 33, 5'11. Began at 208, now down to 153.

Got prescribed Mounjaro because of type 2 diabetes, though shedding weight was equally urgent since the two were connected. Diabetes is well managed these days, thankfully (went from a 14.3 A1C down to 5.0).

Began at 2.5mg and I'm still sitting there. Bumped to 5.0 for a single week but the side effects were rough enough that my provider had me drop back to 2.5. Aside from occasional mild constipation, nothing else bothers me. That 2.5 dose has kept my weight level for half a year straight now

Diabetic here, and other medications never brought my glucose down or kept it stable. Started at 2.5 and just did my second shot Monday. Before Mounjaro my morning readings sat anywhere from 180 up into the low 200s. Since beginning injections the trend's downward. My last three mornings read 124, 101, and 113. Heading the right direction finally. Weight's not really my concern, though shedding roughly 20lbs would probably help matters further. Got back into a three-times-weekly workout routine too.

Wishing you well on your path, and stay hydrated

It's genuinely a miracle drug. Always stayed athletic, but crossing into my sixties the weight started piling on regardless. Also became diabetic somewhere along the way. Began Mounjaro at 260 pounds, and just past a year later I'm at 185 with a 34-inch waist, matching what I wore back in college. Back into a running and lifting routine, feeling decades younger. No side effects whatsoever, and my blood sugar's finally staying in check. Genuine miracle drug!

Congratulations, that's a real accomplishment! I'm a shorty as well at 5'0, but far older than you, with 27 years of type 2 behind me. My loss needed to be smaller than yours, though at 10 mg my appetite suppression kicked in and cravings ended. Eighteen months now at a normal weight and BMI. Mj started for me in March of 2024. Your workouts and support look excellent. You'll get there, and all the best for continued success.

Totally valid concern. I'm only on it for diabetes management myself. Started right at the top edge of healthy for my BMI, doing at least half an hour of cardio most days of the week plus lifting three or four times. Took about two months to drop 30 pounds and land below the midpoint of that range. This past month I really ramped up protein and managed to hold my weight steady there. I know a good chunk of what I lost early on was muscle, but I seem to be putting a little back now while still losing extra padding too. Would go hard on protein from day one if starting over. Would absolutely sign up for mounjaro again all the same, since the upsides have clearly outweighed anything negative.
