I received my Ozempic prescription around mid-October of last year (Oct 16, 2024), but I had to postpone starting it due to a scheduled colonoscopy. I tweaked my diet and managed to shed about half a stone before my initial 0.25 mg injection on November 3rd, 2024. I haven't felt the need to increase the dose since it's been effective. I'm consuming around 1400-1550 calories daily, prioritizing protein and fiber-rich foods. I incorporated regular walks around mid-January when my progress slowed down, and now I walk about 2 miles six days a week. During my recent doctor's appointment, my blood sugar was back to normal, and my liver enzyme levels (AST and ALT) decreased, although they're still a bit elevated. Hopefully, they'll be normal by my next check-up. My blood pressure is also improving. I was initially paying out-of-pocket for Ozempic but recently got new insurance and was approved for Wegovy, so I'll be switching over in a couple of weeks once I finish my current pen.
I experienced very few side effects, so if you're hesitant about starting Ozempic (or Wegovy) due to horror stories, know that not everyone has them! I did change my diet considerably, but I don't feel restricted. I used to love burgers, but these days I mostly eat chicken, seafood, brown rice, broccoli, Greek yogurt, apples, and protein shakes.
Feel free to ask me any questions. You can do this!
