7.5mg - from zero to hero to...zero again?

Okay, so 2.5mg? Felt nothing. 5mg? Like a walk in the park. Was feeling pretty smug, thinking I was immune to all the nasty side effects everyone talks about. Then 7.5mg hit me like a truck. Spent the whole morning glued to the toilet, sweating bullets. Anyone else had this happen? Does it get better, or am I doomed to a life of nausea? Should I try injecting somewhere else? Help me before I actually die!

Today's my first foray into the 7.5mg realm and you've officially terrified me haha! Your post made me laugh and think we should be friends!

I've noticed it takes a few weeks to acclimate to each new dosage. Also, I've found that avoiding processed foods, especially anything fried or greasy, makes a huge difference. My system just can't handle it on this medication.

Are you certain it's the medication and not just a bug? I got slammed with a stomach virus last week out of nowhere! I am on Mounjaro, but sometimes general illness just happens. Also, I just bumped from 5mg to 7.5mg, and so far, so good. Fingers crossed!

Oh my gosh, I'm only three weeks into this journey, but...

Week 1: "Okay, this is nice, just less hungry, get full faster."

Week 2: "Still feeling good, maybe going to the bathroom a bit more?"

Week 3 (two days post-injection): "Oh dear lord, the bathroom is my new home. Non-stop vomiting, sulfur burps, feel like I've been hit by a bus. Is this food poisoning?"

Now I'm terrified of week 4.

First off, I love your writing style! Now, about Mounjaro... 5mg was pure torture for me – awful stomach cramps, lived in the bathroom. But since I've gone up to 7.5mg, almost no problems. I think it's my happy place for now. One month on 2.5, two months on 5, and four months on 7.5. Almost 50 lbs gone since early January! Started at 250, now at 200.6, hoping to get to around 160. I hope your side effects go away soon! ❤

I was coasting along for 21 weeks, no side effects, until my third 5mg shot. Now, things are not going well, lol!

I actually switched to Mounjaro BECAUSE of the constipation I got from just .5 of the other stuff. So far, no nausea, but the opposite of constipation. I've had... incidents. I'm supposed to start 7.5mg soon. Thinking of just staying on 5mg. I was taking tons of that anti-diahrreal medicine (I hate those blister packs!), and it barely helped. Then someone here suggested Pepto Bismol, and it's been working! Fingers crossed it lasts.

First day on 5mg tirzepatide, and my digestive system is having a party... a really bad one. Went from feeling okay to 'oh god, any sudden movement will be a disaster' in about an hour. I thought I was being dramatic. Nope. I'm now in a committed relationship with the toilet. My cat is judging me with every flush. Please, someone, tell me this gets better. Or if there is, like, a support group for us GLP-1 veterans. 10/10 for appetite suppression, though. Can't eat if you're afraid of what will happen.

This is scaring me! I've been on 5mg for a year with minimal nausea, and I've lost weight consistently until recently. I'm close to my goal and was going to ask about 7.5mg, but not if the side effects are this bad. I hope you feel better soon!

No side effects moving from 2.5 to 7.5! I just took my first 10mg shot, so we'll see what happens. My A1C is good, but I've hit a plateau, so I'm hoping to lose a bit more. Started around 280 last summer, now 225, want to lose another 20-25 pounds.

Thanks for the Pepto tip, that is a lifesaver. But now I'm wondering if I should add something else to my daily routine to stay regular, like psyllium husks or something?

I've read that Tirzepatide, which includes medications like Mounjaro, works by activating both GIP and GLP-1 receptors. I saw a presentation by an endocrinologist, Dr. Blevins, that showed people can see an average weight reduction of 35-52 lbs. It's good to understand how these meds work!

Hang in there! It really might just be your body adjusting. For some people, it takes a few weeks. Maybe try some Gas-X or probiotics in the meantime. It does get better!
