For some people, side effects just never let up.
Didn't have much nausea myself, and thankfully no diarrhea either. 2.5mg didn't accomplish anything, 5mg brought nausea whenever I ate anything, and given my schedule I couldn't fast around it (roughly 9-5 three days weekly at university), so dropped back to 2.5mg and eventually tapered off. My doctor wanted me to retry 2.5mg for eight full weeks before attempting to increase again. Took a full month completely off first as a fresh reset, and actually shed more weight during that break than across the roughly six weeks I'd already spent on the medication.
Dropping back to 2.5mg turned out to be exactly when the genuinely rough side effects started, and when I did throw up it was genuinely awful, choking on thick, barely digested food. (Sure, this stuff is supposed to work as a tool meant to make managing food easier. For me personally there were zero benefits, so obviously I kept eating the same way since willpower alone has never worked for me. Otherwise I'd still weigh 60kg instead of topping 100 at my heaviest at 165cm tall.) So took nine months off entirely.
The very first dose after that nine-month break was another 2.5mg amount. Within an hour, heartburn hit so severely I nearly ended up in the emergency room, genuinely thought it might be a heart attack, thought I was dying. Honestly had no choice but to quit for good.
Feel pretty rotten about the whole thing since it feels like I fell for something that clearly wasn't going to work for me.
