7 Months on Mounjaro - My Story

Here's my story after about half a year! Started October 7th, 2024.

My start weight was 293lbs. It's been a wild ride, especially with being able to get my eating under control. I responded to Mounjaro super fast, which was awesome. I upped the dose every month, settling at 12.5 mg. Planning to stick with this dose for now.

Honestly, I've had very few issues other than the mild constipation that just won't quit.

The weight's come off pretty consistently, even with a few stalls here and there, which is expected.

I've dropped 70lbs in half a year. Never thought I could do it.

So many other good things have happened... where do I even begin? I know I'm going to forget something!

1- T2D on an insulin pump. My insulin needs are about a third of what they were back in October. My A1c is 5.9. Still taking Metformin.
2- I've moved my car seat, several inches closer to the steering wheel!
3- I'm not wearing 4X-5X shirts anymore. I'm happy in a 1X or even a 2X! Pant size has gone from a 28-32 (Lane Bryant) to a 22!
I'm comfy in leggings now!!
4- I recently stopped taking two of my three blood pressure meds.
5- For the first time, ever, I like who I am. It's still an adjustment, and I'm so grateful I have a great therapist to help me.
6- My butt hurts! I need a cushion!
7- As for my chest, I don't have to worry about them shrinking. I had a double mastectomy back in 2022 because of breast cancer. After losing 10lbs of boob (5lbs on each side), I had a big belly, which was awful. I never had confidence about my body, but this really hit me hard. The belly is getting smaller!

I joined the local YMCA and will start participating once my doctor says it's okay.
I've started walking, slowly, because I haven't been active at all until now. And with the weight loss, my balance is off.

I usually wouldn't brag about all this, and I'd probably apologize for sharing it. But not today. I'm so proud, and I wanted to share it with everyone else on their own journeys. I appreciate all of you and the support of this community. Thanks! Good luck to everyone!

You look amazing! From your photos, I can see how far you've come, and you should feel really proud! You've done a wonderful job, and I'm so happy for you! 🥰

You're on a wonderful journey, not just getting healthier, but also feeling hopeful—I can sense that in your writing. Keep up the great work. Walking has been the best thing I've done for my health 😁

Wow! You look AWESOME! You should be so proud of all the effort you've put in, and I'm excited for you to be able to move without pain. That's been one of the best things for me so far.

I wish you the best in health and self-love.

It *IS* more than just food, isn't it? I saw someone online saying,

and that really hit home. I've been on this rollercoaster my whole life. I'm hoping this is finally different.

Sure! Here's a typical day -- I'm still figuring it out, but it's getting there.

Breakfast is usually a protein shake with some fruit. Lunch might be a big salad with grilled chicken or fish. Dinner is something like ground turkey with veggies.

I'm trying to do at least 30 minutes of walking most days. Still building up my stamina!

I saw someone online had a similar journey: link They said they were put on diet pills at *eight years old!* That's wild but so many of us have been fighting this battle our whole lives.

Good to know the new pen holds 2.85ml. That extra 0.45ml is useful since I don't prime. I take 7.5mg from a 15mg so 0.30ml doses—that's 1.5 doses if I'm careful.
