8 Month Semaglutide Checkin

Long time no post, team! Hope everyone is doing well. :)

Stats: 5'3" - SW: About 320 (Started on the 'tide at 285) - CW: 233

Almost at my 2-year mark on this med. Was hoping to hit that huge 100-pound-down mark. Buuuut...had an unexpected appendectomy and it messed things up. Doc says no meds for 2 weeks while I recover. Kinda bummed I won't be at 225 by the first of July like I planned, but surgery is a major stress on the body, so I'm trying to be patient with myself.

Anyone else ever feel like they look the same, even when the scale says otherwise? Thank goodness for progress pics!

Wow, you're crushing it!! Congrats!

Do you know what caused the appendectomy? I've heard of others on GLP-1s needing that surgery... could it be constipation?

Just wanted to say you're gorgeous. And congrats on all you've accomplished; you look phenomenal.
I'm almost 3 months in and seeing little changes... I've lost like 18 pounds. You're inspiring me to keep going!

You're the second person I've seen that looks fantastic at almost 300. Are you super tall? You look amazing, no doubt. I love progress stories close to my own (around 50 lbs in 9-10 months)! No shade to the folks losing 100 pounds in half a year, but it's hard not to compare. Either way, congrats!!!!!!

That's a good question! My surgeon thinks it was just bad luck. No specific cause, but he did say some medications CAN increase the risk of abdominal issues in general, so it's something to be aware of for sure.

Wanted to add that strength training really helps with combating reduced muscle mass during weight loss. It's great for longevity, like someone else mentioned. Keep up the great progress!

I feel this SO hard, sometimes I feel like the scale is lying!

I've heard that some people just retain a lot of inflammation, and the initial weight loss is mostly that. I wonder if that's part of what's going on with some of these super-fast losses? Anyone have experience with that?

i drank tons of water before ozempic, now i have to force it. nothing tastes good & i end up going for sparkling water instead which apparently is terrible for us 😭
