Accidentally ate too much 😫

Hey all, looking for tips on dealing with nausea after eating too much. I'm in my second week on the 0.25mg dose, and the med is definitely working. I've dropped almost 5 pounds and am eating way less. I decided to have a baked potato that I roasted in the oven for like an hour, and now I feel SO sick. Guess I can't eat a whole potato anymore. :(

Don't wait until you feel full to stop eating. Reduce your portions dramatically. If you think about not wanting another bite, stop. It's a learning process, but you'll get the hang of it.

It's so strange, I've stopped craving certain foods. Since starting on Ozempic, I've been taking just a few bites and then stopping. I don't finish a whole plate of food anymore. I overate once, and I felt awful all day. Hopefully, your nausea will improve over time. I only get it sometimes in the morning if my stomach is empty and the acid is bothering me. I'll drink some water in the middle of the night if I wake up.

I think a good idea is to portion food out on a salad-sized plate. 1/4 of the plate for carbs, 1/4 for protein, and 1/2 for non-starchy veggies. Eat the protein first, then the veggies, then the carbs. And eat SLOWLY so you don't get that sudden feeling of fullness.

If you tend to overeat, try using smaller plates and utensils, or even chopsticks. It will slow you down and help you realize you're full before you feel stuffed. I usually aim for about 1/4 cup of food, wait 25-30 minutes. If I'm still hungry, I eat a couple more bites and wait again.

I'm so scared of getting super nauseous! I haven't even started my injections yet. Some people talk about 'projectile vomiting' like it's NBD!

Honestly, you mostly hear the bad experiences. People who are doing fine usually don't post about it. Millions of people take it without major problems.

Week 7 on 5mg here and I'm waking up an hour earlier than before. Sleep shortened but I'm getting so much more done. When I stick to smaller portions and hit protein first, the energy stays steady even if I slip up on portions.
