Acetic acid with cagri - safe or sketch?

So I kinda winged it and played chemist after watching a few YouTube vids. Grabbed some acetic acid thinking it'd help my cagrilintide fight off those bad oligomer guys. I mixed the cagri with regular bac water (around pH 6), then added drops of acetic acid until I hit 4.5. I pinned it. I'm still here!

No burn! Been using regular bac water, not sure if it's *bad*, but maybe not optimal. The pH was sitting at 6 with just the water.

Did you mix the acetic acid with the bac water FIRST, or add it to the reconstituted vial? What brand pH tester do you recommend? Super green when it comes to cagri!

I'll admit I fell for the hype too and did this whole pH thing. Mixed acetic acid with bac until it hit pH 4-5, then reconstituted. I had those small 2.5ml bac vials, so .5ml of the AA mix was perfect. No sting. Used litmus paper to test.

Okay, I'm gonna confess something dumb. I added like, 5 units of kitchen vinegar to 195 units of bac water to try and lower the pH. Vinegar's got acetic acid, right?

Vial instantly got cloudy. Google says that means the peptides went south and unfolded. So, yeah, don't use vinegar!

So, a couple questions:

Do the oligomers already exist when the stuff's freeze-dried, or do they only show up later if the pH is off?

And does injecting into your thigh make it less likely the oligomers will get to your brain (compared to, say, your arm)? I guess once they're in the bloodstream, it's open season for those oligomers anyway.

Look, I barely passed my chem classes, and I know my limits. I'll just deal with the sting from my peps. Cagri, NAD+, whatever... it sucks, but whatever!

All I know is my pH is now 4.5 instead of 6. I added the acetic acid AFTER reconstituting with bac. Should I have mixed the acid with the bac FIRST? Does it even matter? Also, does the pH need to be right BEFORE reconstituting? Maybe none of this matters lol. Any real scientists wanna weigh in?

And that whole thigh injection thing... might as well inject into your toe. Those oligomers ain't making that trip lol.

Yeah, it was just one extra step. Got the pH to 4.5 like 10 mins after reconsitituting. Next time, I'll get the pH right first. Makes more sense.

You could do this:
* Draw 2.5ml of regular bac water using an insulin syringe.
* Pull the plunger back to make air bubbles.
* Wipe the needle with alcohol.
* Wipe the AA bottle and draw 0.5ml into the same syringe.
* Flick the syringe to mix (suck and push plunger).
* Test the solution.

I've read cagrilintide likes pH 3.5 to 4. Should we aim for that? Maybe draw 2ml of BAC and 0.5ml of AA? Might sting a little, but research says it's optimal.

Also, what pH testing kits do you all use?

Yeah, that would work. I got pH strips from Amazon that someone on Peppy's recommended. Disposable strips are usually the same, some have wider ranges. Mine bottomed out at pH 4, and I was somewhere between 4 and 4.5. No sting at all, surprisingly.

Novo Nordisk is testing cagri with pH 4.0-4.5. I got three different Hydrion test papers, down to pH 0.0 tests. Like MochiMuncher, I mixed ~50% bac and 50% AA to get pH 4.5, then added 300cc to the 5mg cagri vial. Pinned 7cc for the first time today, will slowly ramp up. No sting. I might have to toss the half-full vial in a month, but whatever. I could've drawn extra bac before pinning for less sting, but this is easier. Since Novo is testing cagri on people, I'm less worried about fibrils, more worried about other stuff in the vial.
