Always Feeling Chilly?!

I'm like, constantly cold now! Before, I was always hot and usually wore just a tee-shirt unless it was really nasty weather. I have two very physical jobs and I'm active, but I can't shake this feeling of being cold. Any advice?

I don't have any tips, but wanted to chime in and say I'm dealing with the same thing! I'm always wearing super thick socks and wrapped in a blanket when I'm relaxing in the evenings. I used to be the one who was always warm, but now I'm colder than my husband. I wonder if this will still be happening in the summer.

The cold thing seemed to lessen after a while, or maybe I just got used to it. It was really weird at first, though.

I layer my clothes now and actually appreciate clothes that I used to think were too hot. An electric blanket is a lifesaver in the winter!

It's likely due to your body being in a constant energy deficit.

Once your weight stabilizes around your target, the cold feeling should go away, I think.

Until then, dress warmly.

Or, if you can stand it, you might even lose weight faster, since your body will burn extra calories to maintain its temperature.

I've had the same issue, especially this past winter. I've been freezing! I figured it was just because I'm getting older. I wear knee socks, a thick robe, and use an electric throw. I finally found some really warm lounging pajamas online. I call them my Eskimo pajamas, lol. They're so comfy and warm! Let me know if you want me to find the link for you.

I started wearing my down vest around the house and it's been a game changer. I don’t have to turn up the heat as much!

Being super cold is a known side effect that's not fun. I've always been someone that's warm most of the time. Now I have to wear fuzzy socks and a flannel shirt over my PJs to sleep. I also keep a fleece throw at my recliner, along with a fleece shawl and a heating pad. I've been on the injections for 45 weeks, and I've been cold since about 8-10 hours after my first shot. I don’t have any other suggestions.

I get bone-chilling cold for about a day and a half after the injection, but then it goes away. I just dress warmly. Not much help!

When I was taking Wegovy, I had so much trouble staying warm that last summer I was out in 95 degree weather wearing a winter hoodie and joggers, and I asked my sister if it felt warm because I couldn't tell!

Thermal leggings and tops are good. A heated vest really helped me over the winter. Also, a heated blanket for the evenings, teddy bear bedding, and gloves.

I used to get the shivers, especially when I increased my dose from 2.5 to 5. Much better now, about 4 1/2 months in.

It's interesting how these meds affect everyone differently. I was reading an article where Dr. Mark Moyad was asking Dr. Mark Scholz about semaglutide. Sounds like some people have very minimal side effects, while others really struggle. I wonder if it's just genetics or something else at play.

I'm not surprised so many are experiencing coldness. GLP-1s can cause nausea and decreased appetite, which

makes total sense from a physiological standpoint. The body has less fuel to burn.

Yea Shape-Boss, I'm defintiely eating way less than I used to. My doc seemed super happy about me being on sema due to my insulin resistance. I wonder if some people are judgy since it's too easy? I saw some article linked on Reddit about that. It's helping me not be hungry all the time! I still gotta work out and eat right!

I agree it's not magic. Folks need to remember lifestyle changes are still needed. The injection is not a magic bullet for weight loss. I've seen clients who think they can continue eating fast food and think the pounds will just melt away!
