Read that people using this medication class notice more than just weight coming off, other stubborn habits seem to loosen up too. Most stories floating around center on a sudden distaste for drinking, tied to shifts in brain reward circuitry. Curious whether anyone's picked up on a change in obsessive phone checking that might've been an issue beforehand.

Genuinely an unexpected outcome tied to this medication class. Some kind of phenomenon that'll probably get an official name eventually. Definitely been an interesting ride so far.

Agreed, we all face different levels of difficulty here. Genuinely good to hear from people who've held steady long-term through real self-discipline. Think some of that gets learned while on glp1 too. Find myself actually choosing what to eat now instead of just grabbing whatever's around. So maybe practice really does get you close to it, and glp1 ends up being a stepping stone toward that maintenance mindset.

Feel this deeply. Grew up as the heavy kid who also stuttered. Peaked at 237 pounds at my worst. Honestly doing better physically than I ever have, sitting around 170 these days. Haven't reached for a drink or weed once since starting semaglutide. Just don't want or need it anymore. Same story with those late-night snack spirals that used to spiral into a whole sleeve of cookies plus cereal and toast.

Been hearing more about this lately, people on GLP1s reporting real shifts in other addictive behaviors too, drinking, smoking, even gambling showing up in some of these stories.

Been practicing mindfulness meditation for five or six years now. Genuinely gained more self-awareness from this medication than from years of meditation practice itself.
