Anyone else feel this way about weight loss?

Oh my goodness, I feel so stuck right now. But deep down there's a sense that trying it is the right move. Maybe there's more to it for me than just shedding pounds. Thanks for explaining the hormone piece.

Not really my experience, but plenty of people go through a wide range of emotions along this path. Some find real value in talking to a counselor, especially ones who specialize in working with patients dealing with weight-related struggles.

I'm truly sorry about the loss of your pregnancy, can't imagine how hard that's been.

Glad you're in a better spot now, ready to focus on long-term health and already seeing real progress.

What your friend said really doesn't help the huge number of people these drugs genuinely benefit.
Would be nice if these drugs actually made fat melt away overnight the way people assume.
What they actually do is quiet that constant food chatter so it's easier to stay focused on smaller portions and staying active. There's also real benefit for people managing hormonal disorders, where the simple math of calories in versus out doesn't hold up the same way.

Sadly plenty of people keep pushing that oversimplified take, not realizing how many different factors actually drive weight gain or make losing it so hard.

All the best to you.
You're doing wonderfully.

Lifted consistently for roughly seven years running now. Food cravings used to be genuinely intense. Great workouts, clean eating all day, then caving to cravings late at night and ordering junk through a delivery app. Never managed the physique I actually wanted because of it. Constant mental chatter around food, dreaming about it whenever I hadn't just eaten. Ended up ordering delivery multiple times a week and dropping a serious chunk of money on it monthly.

Been on this medication a few weeks now and that mental noise has gone almost completely silent. A small amount of food and I'm genuinely full. Haven't broken from my eating plan once since starting. Food no longer has any grip on my day to day, and honestly it feels incredibly freeing.

Because we've actually read the research, understand what it means for people like us, and we're done pretending we can just avoid regaining like we always have before, if we simply believe hard enough that 'this time will stick.' No, realistically it wouldn't. If doing this without medication were possible for me, I'd have already made it happen. Wanting this desperately my entire life and never once managing to hold onto it, even as a teenage girl in the late nineties who could recite the calorie count of literally everything I ate, never taught me how to stop the compulsion to overeat too often. Gritting through stretches where I resisted only taught me one thing: eventually I'd always run out of mental energy to keep fighting it.

My BMI sits comfortably in the normal range now, genuinely fit. This is something I've chased my entire life, and reality lives up to what I always pictured it would feel like. Won't gamble with losing that, and if holding onto it means staying on the medication forever and keeping a stocked freezer as backup against losing access, fine by me. I'd have made almost any sacrifice for a body like this, and a weekly shot that keeps me sanely balanced honestly feels like a small price
