Anyone else feeling like they waste food now?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Didn't realize just how much mental space food used to take up until it stopped. And filling up fast? Genuinely great feeling! Kind of sad that meals don't bring the same joy they used to, but I get why.

The quiet in my head is honestly the biggest win. Never clocked how much space food thoughts were taking up until they were just gone, that nightly back-and-forth with myself over snacking has completely disappeared. Kind of like a leaky faucet finally getting fixed, the silence afterward is striking. My urge to drink faded away too, caught me off guard, and my joints don't feel as inflamed anymore, mornings don't start with that swollen, achy feeling either. Sometimes I do miss savoring a meal the old way, but it beats that endless mental tug-of-war over every food decision. Strangest part is the guilt that used to follow overeating just isn't there anymore, feels like something's been lifted off me. Crazy how far-reaching this stuff is beyond just curbing hunger.

My first Mexican restaurant meal in 5 weeks happened today. Chips with salsa and tacos are my kryptonite. Half a chip with salsa satisfied me completely. It lacked the flavor payoff I expected. I ordered tacos anyway, aiming for one whole taco and only the fillings from the remaining two. A single bite of that first taco told me the same story. A third of the plate went home in a box. Definitely a change in how I eat.

Agree with all of it! I catch myself forgetting I'm mid-meal because my interest just fades. I used to inhale a whole Domino's pan pizza plus a few brownies alone, and now a mini frozen pizza and cucumber slices satisfies me. What a good feeling, and for the initial time in years there's some hope. I only wish I would started sooner! It turned out far cheaper than I expected, even self pay, and worth it.

This resonates, and I've been on Reta a few months. My relationship with eating finally seems normal. Friends and I had a giant shared starter of fried mozzarella and onion rings last night. I ate a single piece of each, and the leftovers turned my stomach. Honestly a great feeling.

280 lbs down to 140 lbs for me, same height. I didnt track calories or change my activity. When a cheeseburger sounds good, i have one, and that kept it sustainable for me. Learning to follow the new hunger signals is the toughest part. Half a burger may satisfy you now, while habit says finish it all. The moment you feel full, put it down; keep going and the ick hits mid bite, which feels gross lol
