Anyone else freezing on these meds?!

So, around late spring/early summer, I noticed if the A/C was under 75, I'd get chilly. Now that it's actually cold outside, I'm struggling! Usually, I keep my place at 68 when I'm up and 65 when sleeping. Now, anything under 70 feels like Antarctica!

I'm wearing layers, using 3 blankets plus a comforter. Other side-effects from the meds have faded, but these chills are insane. Anyone else experiencing this?

You're not alone. I thought it was just me being less beefy now... but it's a strange cold, not like regular cold. I'm wearing socks inside all the time now because my feet are always freezing. I'm basically a senior citizen now.

I've always run cold, so if this med gives chills, I probably won't notice . My hands and feet are always freezing.

That being said, I haven't felt unusually cold this summer (my electric bill is proof), and I haven't noticed it now that it's getting colder. But, it seems like another thing to watch out for with these meds. It's becoming more of a total lifestyle overhaul than just a medication!

Yep, totally! I barely used my heat last winter, and I've already turned it on this year. I'm freezing for the first time ever it feels like!

I swear by these thermal long-sleeve shirts. You can find them in packs of two for cheap. They're super thin, so you can wear them under anything, and they're surprisingly warm.

Wow, I didn't even realize that's what's going on with me! I'm sleeping with 3 extra blankets. I'm glad you posted this– I didn't connect it to the meds at all!

I'm having the same problem with my heating bill! I bought thermal underwear layers that I wear now constantly. I heard these drugs affect a receptor in our bodies that regulates temperature. So it's not just less body fat making us cold.

Yep! Had this problem with the other one and now this one too. I've been wearing sweaters and flannels to bed with more blankets. I told my wife yesterday it feels like the cold from the foundation is coming up through my shoes. I have a space heater and heated mittens. My cold tolerance is gone. I hate wearing layers.

Me too. If I knew this was a side effect, I would've started this ages ago. I’m almost menopausal and live in Florida, so this summer was awful. I’ve always been warm and now I sleep in socks, sweats, and a sweater! Totally new for me as well!

I’m the same but in Michigan. I have family in Florida and I don't know how you guys do it.

Reading these replies, I didn't know about this side effect. I don't have weight issues, but my blood sugar has always been a problem. I have it under control for the first time ever now. I thought this (sugar being managed) is why I stopped sweating so much.

I went from tank tops all the time to pants and a hoodie day and night.

Always learning here 😊

I only had a distinct chill for a few minutes the day after my first injection. This was months ago and it wasn't a big deal then, but I'm always cold anyway so if it had continued into the fall, it might have been a problem.

Apparently these GLP's can lower your iron and I've definitely got low iron symptoms, like feeling dizzy when I stand up. I need to remember to take some iron.

Also, yes, it makes me cold! I thought it was a metabolism thing, but maybe it's low iron?

I thought it was just me getting thin, but I'm always cold on this. There isn't enough heat in the universe. I have a heater blowing hot air on me at my office and I still wear a sweater and I'm still cold. Even in summer!
