Anyone experimenting with ketones?

Been messing around with a cheap ketone supplement for a month now, the kind from the big online retailer. Honestly, can't tell if it's doing diddly squat. Anyone else tried adding ketones to your routine and noticed anything?

I thought about taking them to help kickstart ketosis while dieting or to artificially inflate my ketone levels higher than what I can produce. The only way to know if something works is before and after bloodwork, IMO. Everyone reacts differently. I've got a blood ketone meter but couldn't get into ketosis the times I've tried while on a GLP-1. That's when I looked at exogenous ketones but never went through with it.

Those strips are for a specific type of ketone (acetoacetate) that isn't found in most exo ketone supplements. You need a blood test to measure the type of ketone body commonly used in those supplements, like beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB).

Hey ShrinkFixed, I just looked at some product descriptions and saw "raspberry ketones" which aren't even real ketone bodies. That might explain why you aren't feeling anything.

From what I've researched, D-beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) salts and BHB esters are the real deal. The esters supposedly raise ketone levels even higher but are expensive. I'm considering a Nutricost BHB powder but only a half dose to start.

FYI, I saw an article about a new type of CGM in development -- a CGM/CKM that also monitors ketones. Aimed at T1D folks, but it makes you wonder if a non-prescription version could come out for those of us just watching our ketone levels.

I've had a good experience with ketones. I use them during my marathon training. I have my protein shake after my workout and then the ketones 10 minutes after. I'm noticeably less sore the next day than I would be otherwise. I save them for my hardest workouts of the week like speed work and my long Sunday run. They help prevent overtraining.

I'm a big fan. I get better mental focus and improved verbal fluency when I take them. Plus, I can lift weights longer.

I've been on Ozempic for about 3 months now mostly to deal with constant food cravings. I'm on a low dose and losing slowly, which is fine but I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed this... I used to enjoy healthy meals like grilled chicken and veggies. Now they don't appeal to me at all. Anyone else?

It's not just you! It's weird, but I've noticed the same thing. Before, I loved making salads and grilled fish. Now, I find myself craving junk food more often, although in smaller portions. Healthy food seems harder to eat. It changes every couple of weeks, though. Last month I wanted ALL fresh fruit and grilled chicken. The last week, I can only handle ramen. It makes no sense!

Anyone else have weird food cravings since starting GLP-1s? I never liked peanut butter, but I've been eating it non-stop!

OMG, me too! I randomly crave Egg McMuffins from McDonald's, and I never liked them before. Most days, I'm not hungry, but when I am, it's for an Egg McMuffin, lol.

I'm craving eggs like crazy! I eat at least four every morning now. I also find myself wanting really sour yogurt a lot.

been researching which peptide combo actually holds muscle while dropping fat. tesa looks better for visceral fat than cjc-1295 but it costs way more. seen people stack cjc and ipamorelin for synergy but tesa doesn't always get paired that way. anyone got real experience with this?
