Anyone found a good constipation fix?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Magnesium and fiber supplements are my go-to! Constipation isn't something to underestimate. Side note, lost basically all craving for pastries, cake, and cookies, but I'll still treat myself to some really good chocolate now and then.

My Mounjaro start was accidentally at 7.5, we wont go into the problems with the doctor and pharmacy. Predictably that gave me severe constipation. Daily Miralax powder helps me a lot. It goes into low-fat milk (6 carbs) along with a few squirts of orange flavor drops and a little sweetener, so it tastes like a dreamsicle. Its become my morning routine, and honestly i enjoy it. (Note the powder form is not the same drug as the pills.) When that isnt enough, three Dulcolax at bedtime do it (no longer needed at my regular dose). And plenty of fiber, naturally.

Curious how you're managing it too since I've thrown everything at mine. Staying on top of water, getting in fiber, miralax, prune juice, even magnesium citrate. Still backed up no matter what I try.

I had this problem already and Mounjaro made it worse. Aim for around 35 grams of fiber a day. I figured my daily fiber supplement was enough until the label showed that even at the max dose it gave only 5 grams. What finally worked was a step I ought to have taken way earlier than Mounjaro: fiber muffins. Each one has about 15 grams, I bake a batch weekly and eat two a day. Add other foods, mainly keto-style low carb dishes, and I now get plenty of fiber. Metamucil helps some people, but I skip it because psyllium husk clumps into a gel inside the gut and slows things down, which is how it works, and Mounjaro slows digestion too, so together they'd worsen constipation.
