Anyone had luck with Bremelanotide?

I'm wondering about bremelanotide (PT-141). It sounds like it might help with ED and libido issues. Has anyone tried it? Is it generally considered safe? What would a typical dose be?

Thanks!

I've used it a few times and it definitely seems to do the trick. But it's really more of a now-and-then thing; you probably can't use it more than twice a month and still have it be effective.

Here's a pretty good video about how to mix it up and inject it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpQSxbf4ZM8

It usually takes a few hours, like maybe 3 or 4, to kick in after you inject it.

It's really something else when you take it with a low dose Cialis, like 5mg.

I have some real concerns regarding PT-141 and that company's stuff. I experimented with the pt141, melatonin and oxytocin. Ended up spending 5 months in the ICU with complete kidney failure, liver failure, heart attack and pancreas problems. Almost didn't make it. Recovering now, but I wouldn't touch anything they make. Those were the only changes I had made and I was almost dead 48 hours later. The potential benefit is not worth the risk.

Wow, that's a serious situation. Were there any answers as to what caused all that organ failure? Can those products be detected in the body after being injected? Duane

I've heard some guys say they sometimes get an erection with PT-141, but it takes a few hours (and it's unpredictable). I tried it once and felt nothing except a little dizziness and a bad flush. I wasted my money.

Indydaddy, that's terrible, hope you're doing better!

EndoConsult_TX,

You posted about some GWP issues back in November. Now, three months later, you're saying you spent five months in the ICU because of GWP products. Something doesn't seem right.

Aside from the issue of not knowing what's actually in any of these research chems, what's your problem with that company? How are they different from any other research lab?

I'm worried about peptides.

I've looked into them a little bit. The 'not for human consumption' warning bothers me. I know it's just a legal thing. But still.

There are so many feedback loops and unknown metabolic effects. I'm not generally a cancer-phobe, but I am when it comes to peptides. I also think that TRT can sometimes increase the odds of prostate cancer in some people (especially if they already have cancer that hasn't been found yet), but I'm still taking .75 cc of Cypionate weekly. And I get my PSA checked every six months or so.

We need to know the risks vs. the benefits, and we need to know how to find any bad effects and deal with them. I don't see that with peptides, especially when the average person is messing with them without a specialized doctor checking them with frequent blood tests.

If you don't care about risks, go for it... but please share any bad outcomes so the rest of us can make informed choices. People who take these peptides are like a 'living lab.' False 'scare' reports don't help anyone.

I started reading that last post, but when you started talking about prostate cancer I stopped. You don't know what you're talking about. Lol

Like someone else said, the erections from PT-141 can be unpredictable. I remember taking some one morning, not feeling anything, and then sitting in a restaurant with someone 7 hours later and getting an erection that made it impossible to stand up without being obvious. :-)

The worst thing about it, IMO, is that the erections are strongest when you're trying to sleep. I usually can't sleep after using it because I keep waking up with a raging hard-on that makes me worry about priapism. So I have to walk around the room until it goes away.

Haha, that's exactly how I use it! I take it and then take a nap, knowing that I'm going to wake up ready for anything.

I was thinking about ordering some more PT-141 because one company is having a sale right now. But they don't refrigerate it when they ship it. All the other compounding pharmacies ship it with an ice pack. And going from Florida to California in the summer, that's not a good way to treat a peptide.

That company's wasn't freeze-dried. But when I checked another site, they don't even sell it anymore. One company does but they don't ship to California.

I used some imported PT-141 from Canada with 5mg of tadalafil. It started working after about 5 hours, and I was hard all night until the next afternoon. GenPharma's PT 141 is useless... it doesn't do anything.
