Anyone still using Yacon?

I've been seeing a few research articles popping up about Yacon syrup, mostly talking about potential benefits for managing weight, glucose levels, and A1c. Just wondering if there's been any new developments or if anyone has more info on this?

So, we tried adding yacon syrup for my mom. She'd been taking glp-1 meds and felt like they weren't working as well anymore. She used it for maybe two months? She thought it tasted good and that it helped. She didn't keep buying it after that, so it must not have been THAT effective for her.

Well, she dropped around 45 pounds initially with the glp-1s, but she was still heavily overweight. She wasn't really making any changes to her lifestyle, so the weight loss was just from the meds themselves. Then she had a serious foot ulcer from diabetes that nearly had to be amputated. That, along with switching to Mounjaro, helped her change her diet and she is down another 60 lbs and her foot is healed. So relieved!

Interesting discussion. I'm always wary of supplements promising significant benefits, especially when relying solely on passive treatments. As Cut-Donut mentioned, lifestyle modifications are critical for long-term success. If the GLP-1 stopped being effective, it would be of interest to investigate if she developed antibodies against the medication.

Thanks for the info, everyone. I'm also researching some peptides and wondering if anyone has experience with Ipamorelin? I saw some people talking about stopping it and having negative effects.

I've heard of that, but it seems like withdrawal symptoms from peptides are pretty rare. It could be related to the overall protocol or other medications they were taking at the same time.

Has anyone tried Melanotan II for... y'know... a little boost? I've heard mixed things, mostly about nausea.

MT2 can have some side effects. Nausea and flushing are commonly reported, especially at higher doses. Some people find it helps with libido, but it's not a guaranteed effect. PT-141 might be another option to consider.
