Back to lifting on reta - can barely handle 30 minutes anymore

Made it back into a training session yesterday, finally.

It's been a minute, running started back up roughly a fortnight ago and that's held up okay, but yesterday was the day to tackle actual weights too. Close to two years since any real strength training, so some rust made sense going in.

What really caught attention was how much the calorie deficit shows up mid-session. Kept pushing, but roughly thirty minutes in, everything was completely tapped out. Back's pretty sore today from rows, pulldowns, and some lateral raises.

Anyone else dealt with this coming back after a long layoff? Something to push through carefully, or is there a nutrition tweak that might help? Protein and electrolytes stay on target, water's above two liters most days, no interest in slowing weight loss for this.

Body composition scale here showed 87.2kg and 25 percent body fat today, started at 95kg, so still pretty happy with the trajectory.

Hi there, 49-year-old woman here. Been running a GLP-1 for roughly twenty months. Was already lifting heavy for eight to twelve months before starting, and kept it going since (minus a few breaks for travel or surgery).

Keeping weights part of your routine matters enormously once these medications enter the picture. Load up on protein and keep lifting heavy or muscle loss becomes a real risk.

Dropped somewhere around 80 pounds so far. Around the 45-pound mark my second body composition scan came back (first one landed a month into treatment), and lean tissue loss only measured about a third of a pound. Might've lost slightly more since, but the vast majority has clearly been fat.

Despite showing up regularly for training, my strength numbers have dropped. Noticed almost right away I'd stopped progressing, and shortly after that my numbers started actively declining. Guess mass really does move mass. Back at 226 pounds I was deadlifting 205 for a set of five, three times through. Currently working with around 165 for fewer sets. Squats are down roughly 30-35 pounds. Leg press dropped 60-70 pounds. Still, I'm healthier overall, so I'm choosing to focus on the health side rather than the strength numbers.

Dealt with some nausea those first few months too, mostly during head-down movements like bench rows. Hard for me to weigh in on e
