Beyond weight loss: What surprised you most about Mounjaro?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Running mounjaro since April now. Outside the weight dropping and food noise settling down, has anyone picked up on other unexpected upsides? Personally, snoring's completely stopped, energy's noticeably higher through the day, and irritability's way down from where it used to sit. Even situations that normally would've spiked my stress barely register anymore, staying calm through stuff that used to rattle me. Anyone else stumble onto surprise benefits like this?

Dealing with endometriosis means constant bloating and inflammation normally. Since starting this medication, the bloating's gone and my stomach genuinely feels normal, plus inflammation seems noticeably reduced. Genuinely remarkable results.

Mounjaro killed the food noise almost immediately, like day two. Genuinely been incredible.

Seven months in now, down 42 lbs. Also helped calm inflammation, dealing with rheumatoid arthritis on top of ulcerative colitis plus a rare autoimmune condition affecting my liver. Latest labs came back completely normal. This has done way more for me than just the weight.

Biggest shift for me is obviously the quieted mental chatter around eating, that's really the whole reason I picked up Mounjaro, same as a lot of people here. Like you, I trained consistently, but binging kept sabotaging it, easily doubling or tripling my actual burn most days. That habit's basically dead now.

Yes, an early chunk of that drop is just water, and how fast things slow after depends heavily on where you started. Lean into it anyway, that's essentially the whole point of doing this to begin with.

One more thing, muscle drops off too depending on your build, so prioritize protein and don't skip the weights. The catch is once you come off the medication, that mental static returns immediately. That's why I've shifted to microdosing and staying intentional with it. Enjoy the process, stay in touch with your doctor throughout, good luck.

51, female, been on mounjaro for a good long stretch now, currently holding steady in maintenance at 12.5mg. Metformin was my routine before that, for pre-diabetes. Total loss on mounjaro landed around 100 lbs.
Most of that came off fairly fast early on. Sitting at my target of 150 now, standing 5'8. Dealt with anxiety, depression, and ADHD long before this medication entered the picture, and none of that has budged, so this drug never touched those symptoms for me.
Food noise has vanished, though eating enough, protein especially since I'm vegetarian, is still a genuine struggle.
No nausea or stomach trouble to speak of.
Constipation showed up earlier on but that's resolved now, regular these days.
Sulfur burps too, though that only lasted a couple weeks.
A parched mouth bothered me for a stretch but has since resolved.
My sense of smell around garlic and onion got so intense at one point I couldn't stand being near either. Improved with time, though I think it's still a bit sharper than baseline.
Dealing with real hair loss, though perimenopause is likely playing a role there too.
Used to have genuinely awful knees, still do somewhat, but the pain's dramatically less.
Sweating less overall.
Stairs and general mobility are noticeably easier now.
Some loose skin in spots, mostly because I really don't enjoy working out.
