Booze on GLP-1s?

Alright, so I'm prepping for a cruise and planning on having some cocktails. I'm on a GLP-1 and totally spaced on how alcohol might affect things. Anyone have experience combining the two? Any crazy side effects I should brace myself for?

It's made me not want to drink. They're even studying it for alcoholism. Socially, a small amount is fine, but solo drinking is a thing of the past. And watch out, hangovers are amplified. Gotta force feed myself and chug water, plus sip super slow.

The alcohol can sneak up on you way later. Hangovers are much worse, even with a couple of drinks and some food. Have a sober friend around until you understand how you react. And even then, tread carefully.

The runs were epic when I drank while on the shot. Thought it was just the shot, but cutting out alcohol (even just two drinks every couple weeks) fixed it. Everyone's different, but I delay the shot before events where I might drink, just in case.

I still drink like I used to, which is…a lot. No side effects for me. Although, I have switched to less acidic mixed drinks because I think my acid reflux has gotten a little worse. Currently my drink of choice is a vanilla protein shake White Russian

I barely feel a buzz, no matter how much I drink. It's killed the enjoyment. One or two drinks is enough to feel included, but I don't crave alcohol anymore, even around drinkers.

I skipped my shot for two weeks - the week before and during my cruise. I was fine. I did it mainly for the drinking. I've had a few nights where two drinks (and I used to put down 4-5 without issue) made me sick. Didn't want to deal with that on vacation.

Take the shot, but nurse your drinks. I can't handle nearly as much as before without feeling awful. Remember, things stay in your stomach for longer. My desire to drink has decreased dramatically. When I do drink, I don't enjoy it like I used to. Two drinks and I feel like death. Mocktails are my new best friend, along with tons of water.

I've heard some interesting things about how these medications affect other cravings too. Some researchers are looking at similar drugs, sometimes called 'peptides' to curb other addictions. Fascinating stuff!

The reduced desire to drink has been a blessing, honestly. Now if they could make a shot so I'm no longer dependant on miralax!

How long after you start this do the benefits kick in for the gym stuff? Asking because I introduced one peptide a few weeks before adding another, now I do 2mg daily of the first and 5ml of the second on my 4 training days. Haven't noticed much yet but all the reviews say it works in the background so trusting the process.

not anymore, but water was rough at first. what saved me was zero sugar flavors. plain water made me sick of drinking it, so those flavors help me get about 80+ oz a day. i carry my water bottle everywhere now.

use a clean surface, stainless steel if you can, wipe with alcohol first. wash hands and arms, wear gloves, spray those too. wear a mask so you're not breathing on things. only open sterile syringes right before you use them. you could also grab a tabletop laminar flowhood with hepa for like 300-500 euros.
