Burping non-stop!

Ugh, the burping is insane! I'm constantly letting out little (and sometimes big) burps all day. It's fine when I'm home, but it's super embarrassing when I'm out with friends or at work. Does this ever chill out? I'm about a month and a half in.

Hey just a reminder, this forum is for discussing FDA-approved formulations of semaglutide. Also, please don't try to buy or sell anything here, and be careful of private messages from people offering to sell you meds. Check out the FAQ if you are just starting out!

You could take something to stop it, but I started using it to guide my food choices. I noticed that things that triggered it were often foods that weren't helping my weight loss anyway – usually really fatty stuff or things with tons of sugar.

I've also found that walking for a few minutes after eating helps. It's a small thing, but I think it aids digestion and reduces the burping.

I know it's not a cure-all, but it's worth a shot!

The burping usually peaks in the first 1-2 months and does settle down for most people - smaller meals and eating slower are the main practical levers while it's active.

the pepto chews for the burp-and-bloat cycle is genuinely useful to know - the bismuth subsalicylate works on the gas production mechanism rather than just blocking the feeling, which is why it can actually reduce the nausea cascade that the sulfur burps trigger. having them on hand especially for the first several weeks at each new dose is smart
